Got a few better pics so thought i'd start one of these!

I'm from Milton Keynes, which is between London an Birmingham, in the UK, and have spent over a year trying to find somewhere for my growing VW collection.

2 weeks ago a farm i was chasing finally started building more units, so myself and a few friends are having about 900sqft.

I'll put up the pictures I have so far, and keep this updated as we kit it out!

We have 2 units, the next 2 on the left hand side, up from the big corner unit.

In the last pic, the wall sticking out is the first edge of out smaller unit appering.

The units are wooden framed, pre-fab pannels with external lap board and insulation, with enturnal stud work ready for plasterboards. The roof height at the lowest point is 11ft, and will peak at around 14-15ft, enough for a 2-post ramp. there are already units on site and the internal frame is solid, enough to support a mezzanine!

Will hopefully be finished before winter sets in in the next 2-3 weeks!

This is the unit next door that a friend is having, taken a few weeks back:

Got a phonecall on sunday, units are ready for us saturday, so we have sealer and floor paint en route, but of white emulsion for the walls too!

trying to souce strong racking for keeping spares on, and a 2-post ramp, and pricing up a mezzanine too!

this is our floorspace with the ramp positioned.

each rectangle is 15x10ft, and the white boxes are possible location for mezzanine support verticals, however i am keen to keep our florspace as open plan as possible, so while the mezz has to be free standing, i'd rather use 2 30ft long I-beams and 4 uprights to bear the load of the floor.

MEGA UPDATE!

Went out on the piss Friday night, despite Saturday being D-Day for us getting keys and contracts, so in an incredibly hungover state, I got myself to the farm, and got down to it!

Few pics to give idea of scale. Not one wall is at 90deg to another. It's quite amusing, we have 26ftx30ft to play with roughly.

Applying a few coats of PVA sealer, the floor is about a week old, I'd love to leave it to cure, but I don't have the luxury of time, and I refuse to roll around in concrete dust.

1st coat was 1:4, 2nd was 1:2 with water.

1st coat of polyurethane based paint once the PVA was dry to the touch, mega lucky it was "hot" for Janruary at 10-12degC today!

Plan for tomorrow is paint the wooden wall on the right white, then sheet out the rest of the walls with ply or thin MDF and paint them white too before the final layer of floor paint.

I'm shattered but love it!

You must be quite handy at this. The way you have designed the garage is quite interesting. Simple yet quite different is what I would say about the garage, not to forget the space which has a lot to experiment also requires a special mentioning here.

We used 12mm 900x1100 ply sheets to board it out yesterday:

Oh, and also recycled the pallet into a free table. Lol.

Thanks gents! I think we've done ok considering I'm a railway engineer and my mate is a software developer!

as a result we may have to re-paint the floor at some point as it hasn't adhered too well to the pva.
