I feel silly having to do this post over again, but it seems a few people took offence and reported me, not sure if it was the name of the wrench, the funny link, or someone cracking a political joke? Sigh...:rolleyes:

So, let's see if I can call this the "Unknown Wrench" and leave it at that.

For my father-in-law who is 91 years old, this wrench was given to him by his father so it must be over 100 years old. This is again part 3 of a 4-part series.
Yes, I have taken the wrench apart, put it into a chemical bath and gentle cleaned it so that I could make out any Manufactures marks on it. I can tell you it has a Mark of the letter B inside the wrench and also the letter B on the shank of the jaws. It has the Number 80366, and the Model name is "Unknown" for all intents and purposes at this time..."Don't ask, don't tell".

You can call it a Bicycle Wrench, a Spanner, Crescent Shifter, Fish Belly, Fish Belly Shifter, adjustable spanner, or any name of your choosing. Yes, I have looked at pictures of this "Unknown" Wrench from all over the World, it does not appear to be made by King ****, Shelly, or a USA model, but it does take on a tad bit of the German Bleckmann model, but it stops there, not machined enough past the thumb screw. Yes, I know they had many small tool companies churning out these types of wrenches.

Pictures and one link from the land down under, they call them Shifters over there. I learned something new today! Anyone recognize the Maker of this Wrench?

You have GOT to be kidding, Woody!

But nevertheless, that is one of the cooler bicycle wrenches I've seen. Do you think it was forged or simply machined from plate?

Wish I was kidding you, but it is what it is.

Yes, indeed it is one cool looking little wrench, it looks to me to be machined from plate and whoever made it did one heck of a good job.

I think I've got something similar. I'll have to dig it out and get a picture.

Its unusual design with the static jaw extending up as it does should be an indicator, but the only one I know of like that is Van Duijl's design (see patent 600813) and yours doesn't look like it.
