This is fantastic, I love the idea of building a shed using recycled material. I have to ask, has the new structure blocked out your neighbours as well as you'd hoped?

Cheers Mate, there is plenty more to come :) Yeah it has completely stopped them from being able to see into to our back yard, The shed and Privacy gate are just what we needed in so many ways :)

Just picked up 4 of these to take care of my storage :) They are from an office furniture recycler ;) Full steel with 2 movable shelves and alloy tambour roller doors :D

Got the brace ply on the internal workshop wall, It wont be seen now that I have the 4 cabinets to put there. There will be a 1m space on the left for open shelves to hold drills and the like. I managed to get half of the timber trim pieces done above after getting the T Bevel out and finding the correct roof pitch, I'll get the rest done tomorrow ready to setup the cabinets over the weekend :D

Big fan of the office furniture repurposing! I recently installed 3x Schiavello metal drawers under a bench and they're working really well for what I need.

I know it was a while ago, but do you know where you sourced your OSB sheets from? I was getting mine from Bunnings but they've since stopped stocking them. Do you know of any places local to us that stock it?

Hey mate, I remember where I get all my stuff from hahahaha The OSB came from the same place I got the new doors from ;) A&R second hand dealers on Sydney Rd, I lucked in to that lot but all you have to do is call them ( Good people to deal with :D )

Other than that have you tried Robot building supplies?

Finished the timber trim on this wall and added the blanks to any holes on the ply so nothing can make a home in the wall ;) Stained the timber and painted the ply black to seal :) Tomorrow I'll add the rails to secure the cabinets and get them on, I hope to get my big workbench moved in also since I will have help to lift the cabinets.

Robot won't have OSB - and A&R only seem to get some items when someone else is closing out lots (missed out on bulk orange tongue flooring and 3mm white MDF from someone else when they bought it!) but you might be able to find some at Provans Home Timber and Hardware in Clifton Hill (Hoddle St) or Bord products in Campbellfield.

The "new" shed is coming along well

And the cabinets are in :D I had help to lift the top ones on, You know when you grab some left over alloy cleats and say I could use those some day, Well today was the day. 8 short and 4 long for the wall, I pulled the saw bench out and cut some ply for the pack out and fitted the cleats. Once the cabinets were in it didn't take me long to load them up hahahahaha.

I did manage to get my big workbench in to the new shop (with help cause it's B Heavy ) I plan on freshening it up with some new grey paint and all the stuff will be removed off it and fitted to wall mounts :D Thankfully everything is on wheel's so I can move to complete walls but I need to get stuff in so the old shop can come down

Well I'm down to 4 day's a week at work so More time to work on the shop ;) Today I finished off the tin work on the far side, I had to use what was left but unfortunately having to cut some rust off they weren't quite long enough and I had to add a piece at the bottom (there is about 400mm behind the upper piece ;) ) In the end this area will be completely brick paved and have raised garden beds along the wall so you wont notice :D While I was in the cutting tin mood I cut all the tin to line the workshop and then managed a whole trailer load of metal scrap to the recycler :) Once I got back I pulled out the spray gun and painted the side and back dark green, after 2 coats it's tidy enough. Next will be the grey on the near side :D

Another hugely productive day :D Moved the wall with the Indian painted on it back 12mm then built a frame to fill in where the door was, Cut the ply down and refitted after putting planking plate in all the holes, Still need to blank the rest of the walls holes before paint ;)

After wet sanding with scotch brite this morning, I managed the first coat of grey on the near side and the privacy gate :D Tomorrow I will finish the grey so I'm ready to start cladding the front :p

Today was paint day for the old shop walls, The walls will be covered in Bamboo panels but for now Charcoal grey is the go ;) Tomorrow is a clean and sort day :D

And just a little extra because I am excited about it ;) After 10 years I finally added an exhaust system to the cafe racer I have been building, I can say it sounds as good as it looks. Built by a 1 man manufacturer in New Zealand :)

I had a good clean in the garage which lead to installing the tool shelves in the new workshop :) I bolted the sides directly to the slab so I could still roll the welder in, 3 shelves and I finally have space for my tools to live :D Still need to finish the upper wall trim but I can still do with these shelves installed ;)

And with this update this is where I currently am with the shop build :) Updates will slow down a bit but I have plenty of materials to complete various job's so It just comes down to time :) I hope you have all enjoyed the build so far? Cheers Andy :)

Another big 3 day's planned for the shop, Finish lining the tin in the rear and get the lining in the front done too :) will see where I get to and if I can paint that also :O Picked up the carpet tiles for the front today :) Hope the weather is better next weekend and I can button up the front so I just have to finish the inside and can get back to RC :p

The tiles have a nice colour through them with grey as the dominant and blue/green/copper brown mixed in :D

good luck on the build.
Love the schnauzers, we lost ours in 2012, it was like losing a child.

Thank's, I have been very lucky with this build :) Having various materials donated or supplied at great prices or coming out of the old shop :bounce:

Yes agreed they are like children, I am very grateful for my little Family of Schnauzers and Humans so not having one of them would be a great loss.

Today's fruits :) Insulated and finished installing the tin on the rear wall of the shop ( It's times like putting insulation in walls that justify having that big staple gun :D ) Moved on to the front and rear walls of the clean room, Insulated and lined plus I finished the wiring for the lights, power and fan :)

Today's action saw more insulation installed and the lining fitted to the near and far walls of the clean room plus the wall behind the door ready for the sub board to be fitted off after a bit of paint :)

Thank's Anth :) Yeah I'm very happy with it, I'm back to 5 day's a week again so progress has slowed down as I don't work on it after work to spend time with the Family. I hope to get a coat or 2 of paint in the clean this long week end and to start installing the top boards above the corri in the shop :D
