Well, it seems like I'm not the only one having this kind of trouble. I emailed their home office, I included a link to this thread because they need to know how their customers are being treated. Here's what I wrote:
To whom it may concern.
Yesterday I tried to return two broken Husky screwdrivers at the Yulee, FL Home depot. I was told that since they no longer carry that particular style of screwdriver, they will not replace mine. I was then told to return the entire set. They do not carry the set either. So, I was told I would receive a refund if I still have a receipt, otherwise I would be out of luck. That's not what the Husky warranty says.
From your own website:
"If your Husky hand tool ever fails, bring it back and we will replace it for free."
Apparently it's not that simple. Also, others are having similar issues. See my post at the Garage Journal tool forum:

I was treated quite poorly by one of the employees at the Yulee Home Depot. The man acted like I was just a pain in the ***. I don't appreciate being treated that way.
Anyway, I'm always polite to everyone I deal with, with rare exceptions. One time I tried to get a broken Craftsman socket replaced at a K-Mart (big mistake) and the manager told me that I clearly abused my tools and he would not replace it. That pissed me off. So I took it to Sears five minutes later and they said "here you go sir, have a nice day."
The problem is the closest Home Depot in my area is 25 miles away, the others are about 50 miles. Lowes did the same thing to me one time, I talked to the manager and he assured me that I would never have any trouble getting a tool replaced at his store. He has remained true to his word, it's been a pleasant experience ever since then.
I'll keep y'all updated on this.
