Outlawws:

Story I got was prior owners teenage son was using it to clamp a car part, then hitting the car part while in the versa-vise with a hammer.

I wonder if it was broken trying to get it apart? That main screw has some sort of one way lock on it.

It says it's the vise and the add on piece is a free extra.

Or do you mean the add on is USA? :dunno:

Thats not a and price if USA...

I understand it as the add on is USA. Maybe not.

I got my Versa-vise when it came n a workbench I bid on. Never knew anything about the vise. It gets lots of light duty use.

Just like the one in your last photo.

Yes. It was an odd deal. The workbench I bid on had a large Jorgenson Quick Vise on it, that's what I wanted. I got the 12 foot bench and both vises for something like $35. The shelf under the bench was made of full dimension 1x6 clear pine. Pretty good shape.

I gave the bench to a neighbor and kept everything else.

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to let you know that I did some research on a Versa Vice and I was able to find an outfit in Ohio that actually bought the prints from Will-Burt Co in 2006. Needless to say I ordered one @ $75.00 and it arrived today. I just opened the box and it is a nice well made tool that I think will be with me for many years to come... Please check out the site www.jonmargear.com/

If you have any questions shoot an email to Larry. They were having a problem with the new ordering system but I sent an email to check on the order and that moved things along. Larry was kind enough to Priority the Vice to me because of the time loss from the order. Stand up guys there at Jonmargear!!

It's good someone has picked it up.

That said, I'm not impressed with what I'm seeing on that site. The sample in the pictures looks rough: poor paint application, spots on the chrome, poorly finished castings, grease where it's not supposed to be.

If I were selling that item (or anything else for that matter) I'd make sure my sample for photography was perfect. And I'd make sure the stuff going out the door was in pretty good shape too...

Web site is pretty clear.

The rest of the current knock off are all imports? :dunno:

Price is cheap not sure of the quality. and I see nothing about the rt angle adaptor...

This is the ORIGINAL Versa-Vise originally manufactured by the Will-Burt Co. in Orrville, Ohio.

We acquired the prints in 2006, the prints were purchased by the president of Jon-Mar Gear and Machine who was a employee of Will-Burt Co. for over 18 years. This vise is currently assembled in our facility in Canal Fulton, Ohio. In order to keep the vises quality and price at an optimum level, some pieces are machined in house at Jon-Mar Gear and Machine while other pieces are imported from all over the globe.

I have a knockoff of this vise. Bought it from MidwayUSA as the Wheeler Engineering Gunsmith Vise. I believe they discontinued it though. I have yet to take it out of the box. Neat video and the link to the original manual was informative too.
