Pretty sure OTG, and maybe some others posted this before.

Here is a 34999 3/8” drive (open gear) “Dual Purpose Mechanical Ratchet Wrench ” with “Lock-On Drive”. It has 1/4” female sq. drive on the back.

18 tooth count
6-3/8” long

Finally found it listed in the 1939 catalog at archive.org. According to the catalog, there’s also a 1/4 by 1/4 version which I was unaware of.

The patent 1927844 pertains to the drive square’s detent plunger aka lock button.

Edit: the 34999 part number was recycled for the common Blackhawk round heads made by NB.

They sure are very similar, whereas say Snap-On and Cornwell have levers on the sides of the open gear models. Who knows, this Bkackhawk rat was long before the 1955 aquisition, but maybe NB had something to do with manufacturing, seeing as how we know the Craftsman is a BE code anyway.

Blackhawk has been alluded to as the actual maker of the bubble ratchet. Could they have been involved in the little craftsman as well?

i gave the no 6 set a clean, amazed how good the sockets came up with a wipe of WD40, like their advertising at the time it does appear they are rust proof
20241112_084823.jpg
all sockets were stamped blackhawk made in usa except the largest one which had the arrowhead logo, may of been left over inventory when filling the set

also had writing in top left of inside of lid, maybe a price?

That fits perfectly with the transition period I talked about in my first reply. Nice job cleaning it up without ruining its authenticity.
My wife thinks it looks amazing and is trying to find a spot for it inside the house.
Wherever cocktails are served to guests will do just fine! Not kidding. Liquor bottles inside, snifters and tumblers and shot glasses on top. And, given its condition, I would not hesitate to go glossy black with glass surfaces inside and top. That emblem will really pop!

I would have a very hard time leaving this as is given the current condition. All I keep thinking about is laying down a fresh coat of paint and adding the crisp black triple lines on this.

Oh totally. It would look amazing restored for sure! I’ve got quite a few projects ahead of it but I’m certainly open to someone buying it from me and restoring it! I would also be up for trading it for a lower Blackhawk roller.

Smoke, I think I posted this on one of the Blackhawk threads before...from an Airbnb we stayed at on Lake Michigan. Though this isn't a Blackhawk it's also from Wisconsin with it's roots in a hand grinder company.

Ha ha that’s totally what I had in mind! Butcher block top and I am contemplating making a wood shelf insert for it in the middle cavity

I grabbed this Blackhawk 1 1/4 ton floor jack (along with a few other goodies) this morning at an estate sale. Not sure of its vintage although I'm sure it's not that old.

It’s not as old as most items on this thread but still a good user. Please post that amazing grinder on the delta page!

Being a USA model, any idea when it's from?

And I already posted on the Vintage Forum. I didn't know there was a Delta page.
