The arrangement of the tools in the pouch?
Ah. Okay. I didn't realize he was talking about the pouch. I thought he was talking about the wrenches. But I think you're right. He must be referring to the order of the pockets. The wide pocket is all the way on the left on the pouches that the Bonney and Armstrong-Blackhawk sets came in. Since the pouch was made in England, I wasn't paying too much attention to it anyway. There's no flap, either. It may not be original to the wrenches.

The Chromium-Vanadium markings are interesting.

^ That was my first thought when I saw the "Made in England" stamp on the snap closure.

And yes, add one more manufacturer's name to the "Who made Chromium Vanadium" list.

One thing I'm still confused about, maybe because I'm on a phone, are the markings. Is each and every wrench in the made in England wallet marked "CHROMIUM-VANADIUM" on one side and "BLACKHAWK-ARMSTRONG" on the other side? It looks like you're showing the wrenches with the E part number up, but that's not showing the flip side, and that E number is not consistently marked on the same side.

Yes re markings.

I doubt my B-A wallet was made in England, forensics show that made in England clasps were used.

Thanks.

Sorry. I'm not following you here. Are you saying you think the pouch was made in America but they sourced just the snaps from England? I find that very implausible, humber. Your pouch is not like the Bonney or B-A pouches, and not just the configuration of the pockets.

I passed up a tool display like this one a couple of years ago and have regretted it ever since.

Blackhawk Catalog No 326 1926_0008 - Copy - Copy.jpg

Well I'm expecting to get my hands on one here real soon so I've started hunting down the tools that go into it.
There are 15 different tools that hang in this box and I have found 9 of them so far.
I bet I know the one you're about to get. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's missing the topper Blackhawk sign and it was listed on Ebay recently. I passed on it months back when the original pick was done. The guy who found it reached out to me for valuation. Am I warm?

If you are ever in Kansas City, MO, go to Harry Epstein's hardware. There is a Blackhawk rack like that sitting in the doorway.

Here is the topper

Awesome. I have to say that I was surprised at the listing price. He threw it online for far higher than I valued the cabinet considering that it was missing the topper and other cosmetic concerns. It's in the right place though. I have a feeling it will look fantastic after you clean it up.

Picked up this 2 ton bottle jack yesterday amongst a sizable tool haul today. It is sans handle unfortunately. Any idea what the handle looked like and what vintage this jack is?PXL_20220410_145032101.jpg

WELL MY SHIP CAME IN TODAY. I have the Blackhawk tool display cabinet sitting on my desk. I put the Blackhawk sign on the top of the box and am pulling out the tools that I have collected for it. It should go well with the other Blackhawk items in the party garage
The insides of the cabinet where all the print is looks pretty good and thats what sold me on the display. I'm thinking that the outsides can be recreated

Don Long, I think that in couple of years you will have a special room just for Blackhawk! Great job!!!

Dreamer, if I remember correctly you had a Blackhawk box which needed to be saved (I think I contacted you a while ago while I was looking for top box). May be you should send it to Don Long for a secret restoration?

one day you will fix it!!!
(that's what I keep telling myself about several of my boxes. However, having no skill to do it well, I will most likely eventually pay for powder coating them...)

It would be a nice project if you are good with paint!

Lock on era 3/8" drive stuff seems fairly hard to come by...this one is dual marked with the early lock-on period tool 92XX# and then the standard 34XXX on the opposite side. No idea if that's a common occurrence, but it's new to me.

I am getting ready to restore my Blackhawk Nugget Torpedo toolbox, and I was wondering if anybody else had done this, and what color seems to be the closest match. Unfortunately I cannot justify having a custom color mixed up and go the professional painter route, but I am pretty good with a spray can so hopefully some manufacturer has a premixed color that is close.

Most people find that sunrise red, a Rustoleum color, is pretty close. For reference, the top torpedo and chest are original paint. The chest on the bottom is Rustoleum sunrise red.
