I was sitting here thinking about that. lol. I bet that the wife dropped a bunch of tools in that bullet box and sent it along. I half believe that the drive handle went with it along with the short extension and the damn 1/2 inch nuggets that I'm missing!

The 10mm back in the day. It seems to always be missing in every last set that I try to assemble.

I use most of mine too, including the S4 jack. It makes simple work of jacking up passenger vehicles.

I just picked up another S4. For $120 I couldn’t pass it up. Got it from an older fellow, said he got it to work on his 79 f350 in the early 80’s but hasn’t used it in at least a decade. He couldnt remember if he bought it off a shop or another home mechanic but it was purchased used. I looked it over pretty good when buying but some how missed this crack till unloading it. He did mention that sometimes it leaks, other times it doesn’t and also that he had it filled with atf. Didn’t leak while I put it up and down a couple times in his garage but it is covered in a film of oil. I plan to replace the atf with hydraulic fluid. I don’t really want to rip the pump apart unless it gets too bad to use. I’ve had the other S4 for about 3 years now. Both were found within 20 min of where I live.

just an fyi, it would be easy to try some Lucas transmission or power steering stop-leak. Helps to swell the seals. Not indorsing it as a cure-all by any means.

Late 30's, I think. You should go through the catalogs to be more precise (I am short on time right now), but the rotating grips are very early. The patent was granted in 1922 and I think they can be found in the cats well into the early 1930's.

A very useful size to have, almost exactly the same as 27mm, and it fits Land Rover Defender wheel nuts (16mm thread) as well as a whole lot of things with 5/8" thread.

Display cabinet. Has wear from usage and age. Does have surface rust throughout the assembly. Paint is worn but still shows well.

Hi Everyone, My friend Oldjacks has opened my eyes to the Black Hawk brand. I see some folks around here are partial to it too, so lets see your vintage Black hawk tools. jacks, Tool Boxes, nugget sets. I will start with a SJ-18 jack gifted to me by Oldjacks. I will post my ratchets soon.

Does a Blackhawk PortaPower with the original roller cart that has an arbor press on one end count? I also have the C-clamp that you put the 10 ton ram in to make the strongest C clamp I know of. I have the chain attachments, the offset ends and the punch that goes with the C-clamp. I have replaced the quick connect hose ends on some of the rams because I still use it. I have the pneumatic foot pedal as well. Blackhawk is timeless!

The "S" stands for 'short'. I can't say for sure but I want to say that the 1930 catalog tells you that the "S" model is 3/8ths, smaller diameter, etc.

Now, you can't come in here telling us about a fine example like this without posting some pictures.

I will do that soon along with some pictures of my collection of drill indexes. Every time I start looking at old tools on here, I see another one I have in my shop. I have a lot of old tools that I never think about them being vintage because I still use them. I will post some of them soon as well as a photo of my Weidenhoff distributor machine that is still in great condition considering It was old when I started working in my Dad's shop when I was 19, and that was in 1964. I also have some extra neon tubes for It. They are the dwell angle display. My tools are from before my time to a new milling machine and two Vevor drill bit grinders, one goes to 13mm, the other goes to 20mm. I am considering buying a Tormek T8 that will grind knives, scissors, axes, and up to 7/8 (23mm) drill bits.

Wow! This website has caused me to look at my older tools I still use. I have a Blackhawk MC-9 cherry picker and two different sizes of Blackhawk stands; one size for trucks and the other for cars. I also have some Bishman Stands, and all of them have a wide base, nothing like the widow-maker stands from Harbor Freight and many other places that sell those small, cheap stands. I use 4 of the widow maker stands to support my camper as well as the camper jacks. The stands alone are not reliable to support it! I have a Bishman air jack that I still use as well. As I have time I will keep documenting my "vintage" shop tools and put some photos on here.
My newest tool is going to be a Tormek T-8 sharpening grinder with a couple of the accessory kits. I never seem to have enough tools!

Did the math on 75% off day and realized I would be crazy to not just go back for it. Luckily, the fella that was looking at it by the time I returned, couldn't figure out the handle release mechanism and left. Long story short...$12.50 and it proceeds to get the wife's new car trunk rusty and dirty, but it goes home with me!! I figured out handle lock now, and works like a champ!! S23

Long story short...$12.50 and it proceeds to get the wife's new car trunk rusty and dirty, but it goes home with me!! I figured out handle lock now, and works like a champ!!

What a find in this condition! And even with the list. Do you know if there was a Blackhawk indian head label too? I still need the older T4 with the hex head for my #6 Set to complete it...

You're looking for this set. I have not seen one pop up for sale in the last few years. Believe it or not, this set came up a few times a year about 5 years back.

I saw this Blackhawk Porto-Power setup at an estate sale today in Independence, MO (Kansas City area). It was buried back in the shop area, I didn't see where they had even priced it. Tomorrow is the last day of the sale, so I'm sure it could be bought pretty fairly if you are in the area. Its more than I care to mess with size and weight wise. They do have a skid steer on site that may help in loading out.
