While trying to make my way through my "Jungle Of Junk(tm)" I found this Blackhawk ratchet in a toolbox I had thought was empty. It's in pretty nice shape, but is it complete? It seems to work fine and you can reverse it by pressing the button and holding the anvil. I believe the part number is 34998 and a sold example on Ebay showed a speeder ring on the back of the head.

I just pulled this 9206 extention out of the wild and I needed it to go into my 70RD treasure chest.
You're working on a 70RD Treasure Chest just like me. lol. I just completed all of the 3/4 inch sockets and I'm down to just a few little 1/4 inch drive stuff and some odds and ends.

I'm also now in possession of a real deal Blackhawk badge for the top box that lives on my red rover. I will be doing a badge restore on this one like I did the last. When I'm done I will have to figure out what to do with the reproduction one.

Well if we showing off treasure chests today, might as well join the party, I picked up this lil lady a couple years back during the height of lockdown. Most of these are the original photos from marketplace, last one is a more recent photo with all the socket broaching displayed, and its a Plomb LA set in the wood box

Post pandemic treasure hunting is 100x harder. Even the 1920s era Blackhawk stuff, that was once cheap and plentiful, is now extremely hard to come by.
I noticed that too. Standard 911x ratchets were available for 5-10 bucks and now some people call for 40 or even 50 Dollars...

Nice box, 930Dreamer. Appears to be repainted - they were red, do not remember ever seeing a blue one. However, I like the color. A little expensive, but I paid more for mine (mostly shipping it from El Paso) (https://www.garagejournal.com/forum...lar-by-blackhawk-are-welcomed-as-well.482368/)
I think there was a ? green one which you had for sale which needed to be restored? (It's been a while - non-original color as well if I remember...

**EDIT: ALL 3 ARE SOLD**

Does anyone need a few Blackhawk badges for toolbox restoration projects? I have these few left over that I have no use for. They were made by our very own y'sguy and I have an early post model along with his later 3M tape fastener version (never used). The third badge is for one of the porto power carts.

More info on his badges can be found here:

I found this one about two years ago. At the time I had a smaller version also. I eagerly began stripping the paint in plans of a full restoration on it. It had been repainted numerous times over the years and the stripping turned into a really time consuming operation. Half way though that project I found a “bomb box” locally and snapped it up. (I know I shouldn’t admit this but…) I’m more of a vintage Snap-on guy so I decided I didn’t really need three Blackhawk boxes and thought I could live with just the bomb box. I sold the small chest and then realized I had to finish the larger one in order to be able to sell it. I have a lot of hours into finishing this but today I’m calling it done…enough…for me to part sell. Feels good to complete it even if I’m not keeping it.

As found.

Be careful. You're going to start liking this process and will end up doing it over and over again. lol. Excellent job! :)

Today I was convinced that I could report that I now have a complete 30K and 49K set in their original decal/paint bomb boxes, however, I came up two items short. The 30k is 100% done but the 49K has the following two left to go:
  1. Nugget 35316 - 1/2 inch deep socket
  2. Nugget 35416 - 1/2 inch swivel socket
I guess I can start looking around the Internet hoping that these two appear. If not, I have a pretty good trade pile of 7/16th stuff in case anyone is looking for trades.

Since I've taken up a good bit of screen space on this latest caper, here is a picture of both boxes for your viewing pleasure.
Those boxes and sets look fantastic. I was wondering if you knew of a source for a replacement decal like the one in your 30K box?
