Hi Everyone, My friend Oldjacks has opened my eyes to the Black Hawk brand. I see some folks around here are partial to it too, so lets see your vintage Black hawk tools. jacks, Tool Boxes, nugget sets. I will start with a SJ-18 jack gifted to me by Oldjacks. I will post my ratchets soon.

What is it that oldjacks has ? I think it must be some kind of very special powers he talked you into those fantastic Blackhawk tools and his powers of persuasion talked me into hunting for all those old air tools!

Now I am running out of room and he is using those special powers to talk me into hunting for blackhawk; at least could he talk me into buying a Lamborghini...:)

Blackhawk tools have spoken to me for more than 20 years. To be honest I used to collect Snap-on but when I saw the light I moved on. Innovation way ahead of it's time which sadly stopped sometime in the mid 50's. Who knows where they would be today if those founding fathers were still overseeing the operation.

Here is a 1947 3/4" Drive Black hawk Ratchet I bought of the original owner. The 15" adjustable is for an idea the size of this beast.

Scout Driver-That box is AWESOME! You know, until I found this board I was fine with my toolbox and stuff. Now I'm always eyeing out CL for a good find. If I didn't work w/ends I'd probably be out at tag and garage sales...:)

My Volunteer Fire Department has two Blackhawk porto powers, a 4 ton and a 10 ton. We use them for vehicle rescue. They aren't primary, and they don't get used often, but they are effective when needed.

Here is my old Blackhawk torque wrench (which still works), and a screwdriver and visegrips that I bought in 1970.

My S4, before some minor TLC. I've got it rolling better but still need to clean it up.

The thing is an absolute beast. I love it. Fits right in with the rest of my shop.

Blackhawk is finally getting some recognition around here which is good. It has taken awhile to do it as most of the good products they made, which one would like to collect, are not particularly easy to find. And that is the element that discourages most people from collecting it.

Really depends on your perspective. What is nice about the less recognized brands is that a person can collect them without having to deal with some of the furious competition that so often has or still continues to fuel bidding frenzies for brands like SO, Plomb etc.

Once a thread like this starts up and people start paying attention to a brand they previously ignored, demand increases, the supply remains the same, and you've got a more expensive hobby.

These are a few pictures of what I have been collecting over my 35+ year habit. The first 6 pictures are mostly Blackhawk and the remainer is co-mingled with another excellent brand that was merged with Blackhawk/Armstrong and finally just Armstrong. The new Armstong cannot hold a candle to these older tools for "QUALITY"!! I've traded a few away to other members here and sold a few locally-since these seem to be "Better" than Gold plated maybe I should put in a request to Santa for a new Truck!!:lol_hitti:dunno::evil:

Sorry in advance.

I'm immature at times and wanted to know why you thought they named it Black hawk? Is it because the founder was black and making a name if his own up and everyone accepted it.

Black hawk. Black kawk (silent h)

Black hawk. Black kawk (silent h)

Named after the American Indian leader, I imagine.
