Damn!! Still waiting................................
Yeah, but now it went from suspense to just ticked off.

Otg,

Here's a big ol' BLACKHAWK-ARMSTRONG. I was sorting DOE wrenches tonight and I forgot I had this. That yellowy color is not rust, it's dried up preservative (this was an Army surplus wrench), probably BLO. The only thing Blackhawkish about this wrench is convincing Armstrong to put their name on the shank, and before their own name, no less!

That's a nice score Herb
That porto power set is an old one.
You can throw those valve covers away. They don't store the porto-power very well

What are these?
1/2" drive, no part numbers, just the size of the big square and an arrowhead. Seem a little too nice for just pulling pipe plugs. the one on the left must be newer, it has the name instead of the arrowhead.

The early blackhawk sets came with these. I can only guess there were alot of square bolt heads in 1920. This set has them from 7/16 all the way to 1 1/4

That's a pretty early one. Aa says 3/4 drive blackhawk was only made in that style in 24-25

Nice looking sockets. I’ve never seen date codes for this particular style in 1/4” drive. If that is a 24993 model no. swivel joint, you really scored, as these seem to be fairly scarce.

I came upon a big old Blackhawk jack that a guy was getting rid of a few months ago. Said he was tired of moving it around and it leaks. anyway I traded a bottle of Jack for it (bottle jack for floor jack - seamed like a good trade)

The thing is a beast. It does leak and it's missing a few parts like the original handle. Also someone welded a rail plate to the cup, but it still works.

Now this week I found another on CL.
A smaller 2 ton version, but it works great and no leaking!

Good deal. I have seen a few of those freewheeling ratchets on ebay. How does it work?

If you mean how does this specific one operate, pretty good. Operates in both directions as designed but a little sloppy. If you mean how is it manufactured, here's a page from the 1935 catalog.

At a garage sale today I found a small can full of Blackhawk sockets. They looked interesting, and the price was right, so I bought them. Tonight I cleaned the grease off them and got the numbers. They are Blackhawk "Nugget" 7/16" drive.

35110 5/16 6-pt.
35116 1/2 12-pt.
35119 19/32 12-pt.
35120 5/8 12-pt.
35121 21/32 12-pt.
35124 3/4 12-pt.
35126 13/16 12-pt.
35128 7/8 12-pt.
35130 15/16 12-pt.
35132 1" 12-pt.
35134 1-1/6 12-pt.

35216 1/2 8-pt.
35220 5/8 8-pt.

Photos of the set and three of markings on the 35134 socket. Notice the owners mark showing on one in the group photo. All of them are marked this way.

Not me, I just wanted to save old Blackhawk sockets from the scrap. I have enough rabbit holes to explore without adding another!

I found a box but probably not the one you nuggets guys are looking for. Still has decal. Pretty rusty but amazingly still functional.

I think I may have found the set for that one this weekend if it's for a 3/4 drive set.

They called that the "Hot Box." Twenty-seven (27) (obviously) pieces, 1/2-inch drive, 92XX handles, 66XX sockets, and some DBE wrenches, in the "CB" case which was s smaller version of the deluxe "R" case. See page 16, 1935 catalog.

Blackhawk find for last weekend. Most interesting is the 7/8 to 3/4 ratchet plug with the Blackhawk stamping. Didn't know Blackhawk made a 7/8" drive until I looked it up.IMG_20180628_191814232_HDR.jpegIMG_20180628_191827874_HDR.jpeg
