Looks like a page from one of those fun facts Optical Illusion books. 'Which square is larger?' When they're actually the same size. Do you know the kind I mean? The Plomb drive opening looks bigger due to the circumferences.

I do know. That messes me up all the time looking at drive sizes on sockets...usually not on 1/4" drive stuff though. I also like how, on the smaller size one they just said "F it" and stamped BH instead of Blackhawk.

I snagged this double-ended 11/16" x 3/4" No. T20180 spark plug wrench at the flea this morning. Hex openings. Neat, efficient, effective idea. Meant to be turned with a crossbar. Has anyone ever seen one before? Have I just not noticed them before? I looked through a few catalogs (1935, 1937, 1948, and 1953) and couldn't find them anywhere. Who has the scoop?

Today I visited Twertsy's Tool Temple and by the time I left, a few things followed me home. He's been busy lately with getting into shape and looks like a brand new man. :)

Thehorse13, did you leave the right or the left kidney for this box and contents? Nice addition to the collection!

Not sure what is happening to Twertsy, but hopefully he recovers soon!

This box is slowly growing on me. Please post more pictures once you get it filled

I think it will be one of my next boxes to search for! (In addition to Snap On K60 - I can not make my life easy... : )

I wonder why Blackhawk boxes are so rare - were they too expensive to buy back in the day or too many of them got damaged/rusted/etc?

Once I get some time out in the garage, I will inventory what I have and what's needed. The bottom roller is going to be a problem for sure. I missed one a few years ago and haven't seen one since.

Look up which sets were there. I have a list of full sets for the Red Rover and the 3 drawer boxes (Blackhawk master mechanic andR70 / R90 Master Wrench Set). Could not add it to this site due to volume limitations. If you want them, e-mail me and I will send you both lists. I copied them from catalogs into word as I could not read catalog copies well...

Thanks for that offer. This box is a 52W, which is the tractor and construction set. I found the tool list in the 1948 catalog which thankfully is clear enough for me to read.

Nice! I am going to guess that it's mostly 1/2-3/4 drive ratchet and socket tools + wrenches

Please post the list from the catalog once you show what you have.

...Still have to see my first vintage BlackHawk tool in the wild in MA...

It has a good mix of 7/16 nuggets along with 3/4 drive sockets. There are also a lot of wrenches. I will e-mail you the list.

Thank you!
7/16 will probably be a challenge
I wonder if there are 7/16 to 1/2 and 7/16 to 1/4 adapters so we could use 7/16 drive sockets in modern world

FYI, I was the one reproducing the winged emblem and the circular medallion. I would be willing to have some more done, but it would take an order of around six each to make it worthwhile for the production setup. They came out quite nice I think. I was missing the round one but had the winged versions.

Do you happen to still make or have one of the Blackhawk circular medallion? Something else followed me home today...and I find myself in need of one. :)

Horse13, as I mentioned before, I could have some more made but it is not at all cost effective to do 1. I would at least need 5 more.
I'd be glad to do it you would just need to round them up. Let me know what you want to do.

I will try my best to get the other 5 slots filled. Thanks! :)

Half a step, only one of the two strips is there. No emblem either. Any way, I gave the whole story in the garage sale thread, but it was free and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Anyway, here it is:

It has drawer slides, what looks like the original drawer liners, but I am not sure of the exact model. Is it for tractors and heavy equipment? A standard master set? Don't know, but I couldn't pass at the price; free.

BMWRD0, Great luck and great find! Free!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
From the pictures it appears that you just need an aluminum piece - holding piece appears to be intact! I already saw you going for a reproduction emblem with y'sman. This is going to be great!!!

FREE is always good! Very lucky find, good for you!

For anyone needing the stainless strips strips that are on the front…
I believe you could (if your so inclined) make some out of raw stainless stock. You could remove the original trim holder and then build and polish a trim strip to match and adhere to the box front. Needless to say you'll probably never see those strips laying around somewhere (watch me be wrong!) Anyway that is what I would do. I think it would be pretty easy and stainless polishes up beautifully.
Yours could be the Caterpiller model or not I think they were all the same other than the badge and colors.

As has been said I have the dies for the badges, we just need more orders to justify making more due to the minimum orders and hassle of doing a batch.

There are also decals available for it on ebay

Please include me for a badge as well, for this box i posted back at no. 2099. That's the 5 badges y'sguy will need for an order.
I think the guy who sells the stickers on ebay also has a Blackhawk box with no emblem, but I could be wrong, as so often!

Great find Bmwrdo. Welcome to the world of Blackhawk boxes. Heavy to lug around!

I feel ripped off now. I had to shell out 20 bucks for my box and it's missing the tool tray. I'd say you got a far better deal than I did. :)

Guys I am cleaning house round here and going to get rid of most of the stuff I dont actively collect. The Blackhawk boxes and tools are all up for grabs. I want to sell it as a package deal. Anyone interested, I will take more pics of the tools and boxes after work for all to see what tools are there. I'm in North Central Tx but dont mind setting up shipping to someone that wants them. Anyone interested, please PM me.. I am also open to some trades...

I can't think of a better place to ask, but would any of you have an extra one of these Blackhawk drawer knobs laying around? It's the final part that I need before I start to restore my beat up 100W top box. Thanks! :)

Is this the same company? I found this tossed in metal recycling at my work. I scrolled through the photos and did not see a flex head style.

The part number photo never attached. What vintage is this? Just seemed advanced for 1920’s to 40’s era to have a flex head design.
