**** . . . . now we know why MAGNETIC NORTH is getting jacked up !!! :D

Please . . . someone nearby go through that Vise Heaven and film while you document the many brands and models there. This could be the GJ YouTube of vise love in one spot . . . .until the magnetic north is dilluted.

That YouTube could be a good long-term money maker for someone !! ;)

I wonder if that first image is really his collection?

For some reason I doubt there's "you ****" prices.

Hey bullnerd thanks for posting. That title got me. The 1st photo looks like an old photo of factory stock shelves. If that is his there's about 350 vises there and even at $100 ea thats $35,000 and a lot of those will go for a lot more than that. Even if he's just sitting on the 50 or so in the current group photo he's still sitting on a gold mine. Some rare gems there.

I spoke to that guy. Nice as can be, I called about the stewart handy vise he has. Took the time to tell me the history behind it and everything. I wouldn't hesitate to buy something from him if I really wanted it.

ALL: I've seen that ad for a long time. that is the worst written ad for that many vises i have ever seen. unless somebody has seen them in person and met the guy to tell me different i'm betting the farm that is a scam ad.

Wrench: wasn't that stack of Reed vises actually at the Reed factory back in the day or was it at a local hardware store?

I emailed him probably 2 years ago and suggested he sign up here and list them in the classifieds. Never heard back.

I spoke with him today as well, and nice as could be! I mentioned GJ to him and he said he loves reading stuff on here and has tried to post pics but it wouldn't let him/he couldn't figure it out.

Super nice guy. I'd buy.

ALL: maybe i'm wrong about the guy if some of you are talking to him. did he say he owns all the vises in those pictures because I've seen those pictures a year or two ago? or better yet has anybody seen that vise collection in person?

I told him I was interested in the 474 I saw in the pic and he said "oh, that's actually a 429. It has 3xx" jaws vs 4" etc..."

Sounds like they are his...but I did not ask directly.

Also, they could simply be pics from 2 years ago and he never took more...???

Or, maybe he's scamming a couple hundred bucks at a time and being very very polite whilst doing so.

Dave: I'd definitely want to hear from a member we know saying he has met the guy and that he actually is a good guy and has those vises before sending him a Paypal.

ALL: if you happen to meet the guy in person can you take a few pictures and post them for us to see different ones because i would say a collection like that deserves a few more posts full of pictures if it does still exist.

The second i saw the title i knew where this was going. i have spoken to him a few times, he is about 45 minutes from me. definitely no "you ****" prices in his fleet. the first picture with the "inventory in racking" is not of his current shop, can't speak about anything in the past, but all the other vises pictured are his. certainly a massive collection of nice quality stuff.

I take my family for "rides" in that area every once in a while so I should be able to swing by. I was right down the street over the summer at another antique place with my wife, but I didn't know about the vise-mahal at the time.

I've got the Emmert and another Emmert that I broke, 4 of the Wiltons and 5 or 6 of the Parkers and a few more big and small misc. 2 of the Parkers are 6". Have a Rock Island.

But he has me beat for sure, by double.

Don't much like those anvil combos, but would love the round Parker and more rotating jaw ones.

Also looking for 8" or bigger and the largest Wilton with pipe jaws.

Add a Record I just tripped over while going out to the garage and had forgotten about.

I'm gonna post up the ad and the pictures, since Craigslist ads go away. I have a feeling a lot of GJ members wanna see this stuff for some time to come!
