Yeah nothing about that vise resembles any Athol I’ve seen
The knob and the front looks athol, the bottom looks like parker. Just what I see.

The Hollands 54H is pretty beefy for a 5” jaw vise. It weighs in at 128 lbs on my scale.

Nice one 4Nines i have its big sister the 56H. I also Have a REED 4C and to tell the truth i prefer the Hollands.
That's 21 pounds more than my Craftsman 5198 Unicorn weighs....
That, my child is a L A R G E Five incher...
Restore it, and paint it "Arrest-Me-Red"...
And then, you'll own a serious clamper...![]()
is this vise worth $50?
I had the same vise for a long time and it held up very wellis this vise worth $50?

i asked him where it was, 100 miles away from me. i can't make that drive anytime soon.

And this is the one I would have on a top 5 list of vises I would want to have on my bucket list. Long trips have become difficult for me to do, but I had to for this vise. It was a 6 hour round trip for the 2 vises, but the trip was mainly for the Reed 4C. Initial look, it looks reeeeeal fine! actually, after a good cleaning, this might not need anything else, maybe a bit of polishing on the hamdle, but no restoration needed.
I don't live in a vise heaven area and USA vises are kind of rare, but every now and then I see one for sale and I am shocked and happy at the same time.....and super happy if it finds its way home with me.
This 4C was $175, not a U-**** price, but definitely a great price as far as I am concerned. A real beauty and a real beast....what can I say....I am really happy with this one![]()

Nice haul FMC
Record No7's are hard to find, even here in the UK, the rarest size of the lot.
I dunno, FMC, a 4C for $175 is pretty much U-**** territory in my books...![]()
Agreed! U-****![]()

You got a great deal on that 4C
Around here you could sell it easily for double or maybe triple what you paid. I sold my 4C for one and a half what you paid but mine was in far worse condition and didn’t even have a swivel base or a handle.
I recently bought a 3C in a condition similar to your 4C but I paid way more for a smaller vise.
I think your entire haul is a "u ****". Some nice iron in that pile!

Wow, you seem to have hit jackpot in succession
Since you are on a winning streak, I suggest you buy a Meg Million lottery ticket (currently at $680,000,000), even after tax and the reduced lump sum payment option, you should be able to buy a few nice vises with the proceeds![]()

)Surprised that no one has mentioned the Erie 110 yet.
I thought there was only 1 Erie 110 known to exist....
Just like that 9" American Scale; not sure anyone has seen more than the 1.
Those 4CA'a's are nice. They are alot cheaper the the Columbian 206 M3 also. One great vise
A couple finds from this weekend, an Athol 713 adjustable handle vise and an unmarked oval slide vise. For some reason I had it in my mind the Athol had a ratcheting handle, but now that I have one in my hand, I see how the handle works, pretty slick. Any idea who made the oval slide vise? The cylindrical "meatball" and handle ends ring a bell with anybody? Not crazy about this style of vise, but it was so pristine I had to buy it. Other than the surface rust and dirt, it is like new, excellent checkering on the jaws, perfectly straight handle. The jaws are 3" wide, opens to 5".
