I thought I might share some pictures of my business/personal shop for you guys. I've read countless threads and question on commercial type shop space involving how economical it is as well as practical. So far it seems to be both, however, being three miles from my house is a small drawback.

My cousin and I purchased the shop about a year ago. It serves as both personal and business shopspace. He builds houses and I have rental property. It seems to fit us both well but is a bit narrow at 40 ft.

Below is the basic layout. We don't have any plans for the showroom in the front yet. I think there are lots of possiblities if we ever opened a storefront business.

When we bought the building, only the two offices and showroom were framed up. We decided to attach a man cave to the offices for... Uhh... breaks from work! We probably went overkill in adding the two enclosed tool rooms but they have proven to be worth it.

Now, what's a shop without a place to hide from you wife? We went ahead and added a sink and fridge for comforts. Also we got a smoking deal on a projector so we had to add that as well. The offices and man cave are heated and cooled w/ central H&A. (Lights are on so projector isn't bright)

I just realized how messy everything is in the photo's. Most of these were taken as we were getting settled it.

Here are a few pictures from the inside. The first one is a view looking from the back to the front door. Future plans would be to install a 2 post lift in the back. In the very near future we'll have to do some block work to the back wall, at that time an overhead door will be installed. Its usually a pain to get a vehicle in here because of how narrow it is.
