Does anyone else like Wera tools? I kind of do... :bowdown:

I think they need their own thread here.

What is good and what is less good about their tools?
Would you like to see some new improvements from Wera?
And what would that be?

Well, seeing that own the whole line, please recommend one of their hex bit holders for a cordless drill. Non-impact.

I would love some hard handle laser tip Wera drivers! Can't believe how grippy the laser bits are. Unbelievable how well they grip stripped screws.

Hell YES!!! lets start a petition! even as a limited edition one time deal I would buy a couple sets. I still have some orange handles that have seen over 20 years of near daily use and are the best phillips drivers I owned until the lasers came out

Decaf - you are sooo right!

I always had mixed feelings about Wera drivers, and this was mostly due to the handles!

Just of late I've been doing a lot of carpentry (sometimes you have to) and using a lot of woodworking screws with Pozi heads. Sadly, there seems to be quite a lot of variation in the heads. I didn't want to use my decent PB drivers and my CK were taking a beating.

I bought, just to try, a Wera stainless steel driver (with the white handle) and am really impressed. Used it on all manner of ****** screw heads without damage! These blades are tough! Might add a few more to my carpenters bag, but I know the handles won't stand up to greasy hands!

I would just love some hard handled drivers in the same pattern!

I have about 20 (!) Wera VDE screwdrivers. I think they are excellent - the steel is very strong and hard wearing, but not brittle. and the tips grip well. I'm not a huge fan of the handles but can live with them. Whilst they do get dirty, they clean up well with some solvent.

Here's a picture of the only Wera tool I own - a model 7007 3/4" drive torque wrench.

I bought this on eBay a few years ago when shopping for a new torque wrench. The seller called it the "European equivalent to Snap-on", and after a little research I decided this was a good deal at ~$120 (shipped).

I am quite pleased with it!

That comes from a company called Nobar in England (link: http://www.norbar.com/en-gb/). They are the largest torque wrench manufacturer in Europe. Cool find.

The Wera tools have really peaked my interest. I would love to have a closer look at them. I would love a set of jokers and a 1/4 3/8 1/2 drive zyklops set. I've seen the videos I really like the concept.

Today the lasertip was my lifesaver. Without lasertip i couldn´t get this rusty screw out.
I first tried with a Bahco ergo, but it slipped all the time.

Lasertip = 1 , Regular = 0. :rocker:

Question for you Wera fans, dropped in a local DIY shop on my travels and bought a long reach 250mm long screwdriver PH2 Phillips anyway, it don't say Wera anywhere on it, but it looks identical to Wera screwdrivers! And it's blue handled.(see pic). Do you think it is a genuine Wera? only paid £5.00 sterling for it!
