Finally added my draw pulls. I found a dozen old wrenches for a $1 at a garage sale last year... Now what do I do with the other 9? My garage has so much space when compared to what we started with... almost enough room for my next project (1967 Olds 98 with 425 Rocket)... almost. And this one my whole family fits in... and I do mean everyone. It may have to have a bit of work done in my dad's shop. At least it will be motivation to build a few bays on sooner.

Oh, and Mexican blankets make great welding blankets...

Great garage build!

A few points of your garage project I really like are the:

• Barber's chair
• Storage space you made above
• Great use of space (like where you hung the ladder)
• Air compressor enclosure
• Garage signs/cars and such you put up

You really made the garage yours, which is something that really speaks to me when I see someone customize a space. Great job!

Space is at a premium when you down size shops... I borrowed a lot of ideas from GJ. I spent time thinking in the garage... I'm a partsman by trade - so I love organizing - I know its a sickness.

The barbers chair was a back alley find - I taught my wife the joys of dumpster diving. Our old town had "Heavy Item Garbage" pick up 4 times a year - it was common practice to place good/usable items out at the same time for us re-users to grab.

I still have the two storage closets to finish this winter - but summer is for outdoor stuff.

My oilless cratered before I could run it in the closet. Our climate won't allow for attic installs or outside air without some extra water scrubbing.

I've since put an Emglo (Jenny) KU belt driven pump with a 1 HP motor - I have a 2 HP motor that is in need of some fixing and would run much better on 220 - which is next on my list when I get back home. I kept the air compressor "shack" to help hide some junk and to keep my kids and my fingers from the belt and pulleys. I can have a conversation in my shop while it runs; but the main point was to not hear it from inside the house. And we accomplished that.

This is our shop. I do sit out there and watch TV, or drink and visit sometimes. But it is our working shop. I just run under the rule that when you're done a job - you clean up your tools and benches - that way it doesn't get overwhelmingly messy.

The two closets in the shop have "scrap lumber" shelves. They irritate me... so I started to tear them out and build some useful shelving that my chemicals don't get lost on. This way I can see what I have and lock the door when my kids get old enough to "play". I stole the shelf idea from a few people here. The 1x4 shelf is built in the wall between the closet and the shop - the other was built on my work bench and hung there. I'll add a rolling storage bin and lower shelf soon. Its time for a Canadian tool break

I finally worked on something garage related in the garage... Started and "close-to-finished" my welding table. I still need to build the mounts for my vises and bench grinders.

I salvaged and dumpster dove as much as I could for the last few years to get the material for this unit. It's only 3/8" plate; but it will be better than welding on a wooden table. I have three receiver tubes built into the work surface; these will take the grinder and vise mounts. Leaving me with a flat surface when I want it. I used bar-grating at one end to make a grill to torch over, with a small box to catch slag. And an old drip tray slides in the bottom to catch anything else - or to pull out and cut over.

My various mounted tools will store on the cross brace under the table. I had the bins sitting around from a clean up job; so they went on. I added a few pegs to hang grinder wheels, grinders, brushes and scrapers. Used a few old carriage bolts for ground clamp posts. I rattle canned in as close a green as I could find to my shop colour.

I need my motorcycle lift back for... an actual motorcycle.

My Father's Day gift was the Canadian Tire money to buy a new tool box. So I had two, but that seemed annoying to roll two... so I welded up a "low-rider" cart to make two into one... it is a bit difficult to move (four swivels rather than two) but everything in my shop needs to be able to be moved for what I'm doing at the time. Even had a few stickers left around...

Now I have to move back into two boxes - at least I won't have tools stacked on top of each other and my drawers won't get jammed when things are not just right...

And my "new" tool cabinet/work bench. Saved a 40/50's cabinet from the dump. It will roll off the bike lift when I'm sure I don't need to lift it up anymore... Bike lifts, for far more than bikes!!!

Stole an idea from pinterest (smart men will go there...) This little rack made 3 drawers of wrenches into 1 and a half; leaving me more room to better organize my "cutting" tools drawer. Used leftover closet organizer racking cut down and bent to the right angle. I'd like to sandblast and paint it to match other parts of the tool box.
