Hey guys like a few others on here i"ve been a long time lurker but i can finally post up my shed!

its a tight squeeze some days as i share half with my house mate. given our common interest of cars, particularly Zed cars we called it The Zed Shed.
some how we manage to cram in all our gear and still work on cars in the 6m X 6M shed.

its gone through a few changes to get it is to where it is today. but im sure it wont stay that way either haha.

in between our own projects from my 3 cars, '74 260Z, BF F6 typhoon and my Slick top 300ZX to my house mates 2+2 TT 300zx we also have helped our mates out with numerous projects as well as little cash jobs on the side.

the most latest project we are tackling is a Ej20 turbo swap in a brumby. ill have to find the pictures for that to upload our progress on it so far with some fab work and rust repairs needed.

but thats enough for now before i find more stuff to post about with the Zed Shed but we do have a FB page with everything we do at the shed or jobs we have taken on, the link should be under my Signature

Cheers Matty

Matty88, g'day and welcome to the GJ from down south of you.

Its always great to see another Aussie on the forum, enjoy..

cheers 1/2 Cup, I've noticed there is a few Aussies on here but we are still out numbered haha.

Nice Z cars.
Any more on the TT or slick top?
Is the slick top NA or turbo?

yeah Boosted the TT has a full forged built motor twin hks 2530's on its run in tune it made 330rwhp on 11psi. she still retains the side mount coolers but they are the big Trust ones. from dump pipes back it still retains the factory twin exhaust with "test pipes". the auto will be the next thing to come out and get attention with a stall and the box to be built. only drama then is it will loose the Shift At Will (SAW) kit which still works a treat and are pretty hard to come by as they aren't made anymore. we actually got that motor from the Slick top i have as i wanted a slick top and my mate wanted the built motor so we went halves in the car. originally the slick top was na auto but was converted to TT manual. between the remaining parts we didnt need of the slick top we sold of and made the money back on our purchase price just meant a 6 hour round tip to pick her up.

my plans for the slick top are quite unconventional as its getting a motor swap. im fitting a 4L turbo barra in her. these are quite common motors for conversions on many cars here in Australia, as the make cheap easy horsepower. a few years back i had a 09 FG XR6 turbo with a larger front mount, 1000cc injectors for E85, walbro 460 intank pump and a 2.5 lt surge tank. only thing that got touched inside the motor was heavy duty valve springs it made 450rwhp and just over 900nm of torque on about 16 psi was still a ball of fun in a car thats pushing 2 ton haha.

so with similar mods in the slick top motor it should be a interesting car once done. as you can see in the photos the motor is quite tall and will take some work to fit properly with either a 2 speed glide or T400 but from what ive read and people ive talked to i can have it fully street registered here. also should be some photos of my mates TT there too

Also here are a few more of my projects that we have tackled at the shed for friends. the first one was basically mini tubbing a LC Torana. the bloke only wanted to squeeze a extra inch of width underneath. the rears were simple enough with the passenger side only needing to clear the back corner and had to be done with minimal modification with out fully tubbing the rear. the drivers side had a new back section to square off where the spare tyre sits.

the fronts given the shapes had to be fabbed from scratch and took a bit more to look at home. once it was seam sealed and has pain on it the rear section especially wont look out of place. but at the end of the day that's what was asked and i delivered and the bloke was happy.

moving on to the next project was the Brumby. to fit the EJ20t donor motor from a leonie wagon that already had the conversion. the front rails had to be narrowed to allow the motor to fit. its common and is easily mod plated. once the rail section was cut out i made a template and cut some 1mm cold rolled black sheet to cap my cut out section. quick coat of weld through primer on the insides you cant get to when you're done and we are good to go. the battery tray also had rusted out with the sheet metal needing to be replaced.
the front cross member also needed to be notched to allow the up pipe to clear (doesn't look like i have a photo of that one cleaned up but)

the bay then got a tidy up and clean down before some fresh black paint in the bay. after test fitting the motor all cleared and we have to wait till we have the time to mount the motor and box with a customer gear box cross member to be made.

FYI i'm the bloke in the picture standing on the car in Hi-Vis hahaha

Well a lot has happened since my last post, my missus bought a house with a 3 bay shed on it so i've got more room to expand my operations as such now. the work on the brumby has been completed but just waiting on my mate to get back to it with sorting out wiring and other little things.

i though i had pictures on hand to show the new set up but ill have to find them. only took me a while to set the new shed up how i wanted but i still find my self moving stuff around to fit more in haha. plus having a big shed means i need a big shed dog also, she loves being in the shed more than i do now. shes not far off being 1 now but the photo when shes a little pup she was only a few months old.

jobs have started rolling in like my neighbors corona that needed exhaust repairs so we get on pretty good after he found out about my datsun and love of beer.

also with the new year rolling in i am finally able to get back to the datsun which it was originally going to be a quick project with the new motor being built and put in with some wiring being tidied up to the old girl being stripped and all rust removed as i have put temp ones on the floor pans, clean up the engine and filling unneeded holes in the fire wall by to allowing us to run the loom out of the bay and fuel lines in a better spot for the carbies then the cars getting a respray by a panel beater mate having only needing to pay fro the materials hopefully and ive got to so some fab work on his Hot rod chassis to meet compliance to get her on the road. then the suspension will be addressed and upgraded as well as a rear end swap with the R200 diff getting fitted. looks like ill need to see what techno toy tuning have to offer(pity iur dollar is **** atm to the American dollar)

but ive got enough things in between my projects, mates projects and things to do on the missus's house as well!

Nice pics.
I like the pup and the Z cars.

Thanks Boosted1!

heres a current over all shot of the shed, bit of a mess still with rearranging stuff and im yet to fit more lighting as some spots like my back right hand corner are a little dark. i might even mount my fan higher on the left end of the wall to allow for more tooling/storage yet
