about a year ago I bought my first house it has a 2 car under, and a basment shop.

The catch the home was a forclosure and needed plumbing, and lots of water damage, tiling, eletrical, new carpets sheet rock, new garage doors you get the image I used whats called a 203(k)REHAB loan you get 6 months to rehab a home and your allowed to include the cost of the rehab in your morgage.
All the work I did almost all the work withthe help of my dad and wife.. the only items instatlled were the garage doors and boiler
I can start with the remodel of the whole hose .. or just the garage let me know

In about May, I finished the home remodel and after giving my wife granite and stainless in the kitchen.. I was given amnisty for some upgrades in the garage

for now here are some pics of garage in the start.... you can see the water damage from burst pipes

So with the air and 220 in the garage came the plasma cutterand I had to try it out opps the front frame rails fell off

so thats where it stands right now .. I have tools every where (yes i will take a pic)
and metal shavings tube and all that fun stuff.. it was hell working in a mess with no real bench and only a few outlets.. so got some floor paint free from my dad and a nice strong bench bench so.. its time to remodel the cave.
1 - i'm gonna clean out every thing and take down the old shelves alnge with pressure wash the floor and paint it
2- fix a crack i found in the back wall
3- get the walls from a chair rail up in peg board on the walls and all the lower in Stabilit Stabilit fiber glass reinforced panels to keep holes out of the walls
4- set up the bench and some new storage
5- wire up some 120 quads and one more 240
6- some real lighting (it ***** welding in the dark)
I always seem to set unrealistic dead line... jan 1 wish me luck ..

Nice... It warms the cockles of my heart to see another WORKING 4x4 shop. It makes the gunk, clutter, and filth in my own seem just a little bit better.

I like the 4-link setups, Zuks have always intrigued me, never had one to build though.

Good job man! Where did you find out about the 203(k) REHAB loan?

I am heading to google now, that may be the exact tool I needed!

be very very weary it was a nightmare .. I did my reasearch and it was one of the worst experiances i ever delt with .. you need to have all your ducks in a row and they want details of all your "building remodeling experiance if it was not for my dad (licensed electrician and former contractor ) it never would have happend .. as it was he islicensed in MA as a plumber pipe fitter HVAC
tech but not NH where i bought the house the bank would not allow his experianc to count ... why we had to have the boiler installed (even thought NH allows home owners to install with no license .. wasted 2 k on the boiler install when all they really did was deliver it.
here is a example of my work that i did in the kitchen .. ( i tiled in college and had refferances still they question my skill)

Interesting... I have plenty of experience, just nothing professional. They typical, remodel a bathroom for/with a buddy, demo a kitchen and reinstall new cabinets for another, etc etc etc. Guess I just need to becomes a professional contractor (or pay one a grand to sign off on everything). Thats for the tips! With the number of forclosures and crappy properties, anything helps.
