Nice finds. The pawn shop I used to go to would have the same policy. There would usually be a couple of people behind the counter. Once I made my pile, I'd time my walk up there so one particular guy would wait on me. I'd already have a price in my head and he'd usually give me that price or something close to it. Unfortunately, that pawn is long gone now.

We have as many pawn shops as we do pizza parlors, which adds up to too many. The problem is that none of them are any good. About 10 years ago, there was one pawn broker who seemed to get a nice steady stream of hand tools but that source has long dried up. I stick to flea markets, garage sales and the occasional auction. Today's haul was courtesy of a guy who was cleaning out an estate. Hopefully he comes back next week with even more stuff.

Yea, the really good one is long gone. The NPS bought the land where the old drive-in theater used to be and of course this is the same land that was once the large HF flea. The property has sat dormant since the purchase. No flea of that size has surfaced and I'm pretty sure we're not going to see anything like it here again. The land here is just too expensive now.

The sad attempt to jump start a new HF flea up where the mower hut is now only lasted a few seasons, then the owner fell into some unfortunate legal entanglements.

Nowadays you have to travel to MD and PA for the really good hauls.

on a road trip now, hit one flea market in FL for some wrenches and one yesterday in MS and found some sockets.
