I definitely plan to post pictures once I have my shop finished up.. still painting trim, and doing the finishing touches between work etc. I only found 1John Deere themed shop through a Google search so I think I might have a unique renovation to share in a few weeks!

i have a few signs hanging from the rafters, and few license plates around a window.

mostly, dust, dirt, cobwebs....

The closest thing I have to a theme is generations. Trying to make shop feel like it has been around for a long time. I have stuff of my Great Grandfather's, a lot of my Grandfather's, stuff of my Father's era and my own. Other then that, just a get it done functional shop. When it comes to older equipment, I'm not real brand loyal. Pretty much any color of tractor is welcome as well as any old truck.

I'm not a ********* mechanic, machinist, wood worker etc like some of the guys on here.. I'm the type who uses the space for doing renos on the house, mechanics for myself family and friends etc.. its set up with nice steel cabinets, great lighting, the beer fridge, tunes and a nice table for my buddies to sit at when they stop by after work for a cold one.. or 5 lol. So I wanted it to be a nice working and relaxing space in one. With my trade as an Operating Engineer I wanted to incorporate that into the renovation. I think it gives it something unique!

I have had a long look through there a number of times now actually, there are some really nice builds out there. Even got some great ideas, tips etc to help me out along the way!

Man that is a beautiful car and garage. . I'll be showing my old man this! He has a 360 Plymouth Duster, all black with a white pin stripe leather interior all original..

nice! where did the chrysler/plymouth sign come from? is it a reproduction? (i've got a chrysler powered plymouth)

#2 pan shot. The plan was for people spending at least a 1/2hr looking at all the stuff on the walls. I think I am up to 40 minutes or so.

Ok a few normal shots. Challenge coins and cars, alcohol and airplanes, pretty much covers all the bases on the walls.

Thank you Dr Doom, I did the engine and interior except the headliner, I had that professionally done, I did the body work which was minimal as it was a Florida car with almost no rust and a friend painted it at his body shop.

How about a sneak peak of the progress? 6'x4' looks small in the picture for some reason!. Laser printed onto a polyvinyl sheet of plastic, framed the back for mounting using 1x3 pine, then painted it black which makes it look like an actual art canvas.

love the prop on the wall. I see a couple C-130 pics hanging on the wall, you have any personal connection to 130's? I was a C-130E crew chief in the USAF, man I miss those things. I just need a taller garage so I can find a 13' 6", 4 blade Hamilton Standard meat cleaver to hang up. LOL I do like your "theme", nice.

25 years in the Air Force, 20 of those years as a C-130 loadmaster. I have been out 3 years now and got to see 77 different countries (most of them on a Herc). At times I miss the stench of JP8 and warm hydraulic fluid, but do not really miss the guys with guns over in the desert. The wife asked me why the was so much airplane stuff in the garage, i told her " that was a good chunk of my life up there and i have not told her most of the stories behind that stuff".

Cool! Always glad to meet another 130 guy. I drank a lot of beer in some god forsaken corners of the world with loadmasters & engineers. JP-8, thanks, you just reminder me I'm a old fart now, It was JP-4 in my day. I got out in 86. Only two permanent duty stations, the "Rock" 1 year and 3 years at Rhein Main, first two on 37th. and 7th. SOS occasionally, and the last year on the "Berlin for lunch bunch" birds. I would not trade those last three years for anything and wish I could relive them. I understand the airplane stuff in the garage thing, I'm trying to convince myself I need to spend $575 on a 130 pilots seat. I think every garage or shop needs one, haha.

Pulled time out of Rhein main (or is it mein?) for the war in Bosnia. I really miss Irish Pub in Sachsenhausen. Yeah I remember the rock for intial school and then instructor school. Hated the damn Arkansas heat in the old E models with busted air conditioning. Great weight loss program. I miss the humanatarian missions we used to do in places like central america and africa, it was great to see how much good we did. Not really missing the wars so much, seen enough bad ****. Where in the hell can you buy a pilot seat? With all the gear on it?

there is a group on Facebook called "bone yard safari" one of those guys works at Davis Montham and one time asked if anybody wanted to buy some parts off sold planes going to recyclers. guys asked about all kinds of parts, some he could get others not. A 130 pilot seat he could get for $575 without shipping. I'm not sure about how complete it is, I imagine only the aluminum being good,I think the AZ sun would do a number on the cushions. You mention Sachenhausen, boy.... I got some stories about that place. Sax was pretty much my home every weekend I hung out mostly at the Cottage. the Irish pub burned down a couple years back. P.S. It's pronounced Mein but spelled Main.
