Guys,
I'm getting ready to sign a contract shortly on my pole barn and one of the things that has me confused is the insulation/vapor barrier issue.
I live in Central Virginia and the barn will have a metal roof and sides and will be 36x48x14. The Company is recommending Thermal 3HT be installed in the roof (1" sheets) and the walls (3/4") sheets. Also a metal ceiling be installed with blown in R38 Insulation.
If going this route what else can I do with the side walls for insulation ? Can I bookshelf 2"x6"s and use R19 batts then sheetrock over that ? Should I do the R19 batts then put the Thermal 3HT inside those and then sheetrock inside of that ?
I will be having 12" eaves and gables with vented soffit and a full ridge vent.
Does this sound like it will be ok ?
