6 inch is a pretty small fan
Even 3 of them will not move a lot of air.

But it may be better than nothing

Here is the facts.
1) Any air movement is a good thing. The moving air will help to evaporate the moisture off your skin and this will make you feel cooler.
2) If a person is just moving air around a room the heat from the fan motor will add heat to the room air and moving the air increases friction between the air molecules and this generates more heat.
3) If you are pumping air out of your shop area, what is the temperature of the make-up air entering the shop? Is it possible to draw make-up air from the shade side of the shop? Outside temperature may be higher than inside and this will cause the temperature in the shop to rise.
I am lucky, here on the west coast, the prevailing wind is from the west and comes from the ocean. The temperature here in town is often much cooler than inland.

isb cornbinder, I guess my next question would be how would I use it?

My windows face toward the North. My options to pull air would be to open the other window or leave the garage door open. I could also leave the screen door open going into the house that would draw the A/C from the house.
Or would I want to draw air from the outside to cool the garage down? Late evenings the sun directly hits the garage door at the hottest part of the day.

Where does the thermostat sample the temperature from? Direct sunlight on the fan unit may cause a false reading. That tiny fan looks like it might not do what you want.
For extra air circulation and exhausting sir, I got a used furnace fan at a scrap dealer. It was $10. The drive motor is internal to the fan and has 6 speeds. I have had this fan for 30 years. It is ugly and it works.
Does you attic have ventilation? I have two of those rotating round units on 1000 square feet. The day after the roofers installed these attic heat evacuation fans. the shop was noticeably cooler. The outside temperature is 20C today. The inside shop temperature is 16C.
My shop has lots of heavy machinery that cool over the night and my shop takes longer to heat up over the day.
Check your local Craigslist for a deal on a fan.

Can you pull cool air from the north side into the shop? I would advise against trying to draw HVAC air from the house.
On the few really hot days we get here on the west coast, I sometimes flood the shop floor with water. As the water evaporates, the temperature in the shop drops noticeably.
I can increase the rate of evaporation by encouraging air movement over the wet floor with my old furnace fan. The fan should face out and the cooled air will find its way to the fan
I would not spend my money on a little window fan .

I have their 2 fan model old one.... its fine and fancy.... but the box fan will do just as good.... it supposedly have a temp range that you can set... if the temp is below that setting fan will stop, or above it it will run.,..... never notice they ever stopped.... funny you asked, I just took apart and re-grease the bearing on these two fan motors, just literally 12 hours ago....

the "exhaust" feature is pretty useless being that these two fans are too close to each other.... use two fans and two windows.... at least where I am, the east facing windows usually draws in air naturally and the north facing ones exhaust air....

Look on CL for an AC. I got a 20,000 btu ac for my 1,000 sq ft garage for $60. Its an older unit and I may be wasting some electricity with an older unit but it works great and I can work for hours on the hottest days and be comfortable.

I have one of the above units and have had it for years. Truth is I do not use the temperature control. Turn it on at night to pull in cool air and off during the day. Is your idea to circulate hot air or move night time cool air? I would think that a fan like this that had a differential thermostat would be great, If the air outside is cooler than room air it would come on, otherwise it would be off.

I don't really know how dry it's Vancouver, but this was common done in SoCal when I lived there. Worked wonderfully. In humid areas such as here in Indiana or in North Carolina, not so much. Makes things worse most of the time. Just raises the humidity even higher.
