Just completed the install of my enerco unit heater. Now im worried that a garage door will be left open by the family when im not around. The thermostat is a 24 volt unit. Im thinking some type of switch on each door that will only allow the heater to run when the doors are down. Anybody done this? Recommendations on type of switch that will work with the 24 volt system?

Thanks

Should be extremely simple to run thermostat wire to a switch on the door and interrupt the thermostat circuit.

Not sure what kind of heater you have, but opening and closing the door in quick succession might cause the heater some issues.

Im thinking just a lever micro switch that allows just an open or closed circut. Would it matter if the switch was rated for 125 v?

Really didnt think about issues with the heater if running and the door was opened and closed.
