I'm trying to decide what thermostat to get to control my 75K ng garage heater. I found two Honeywell heat only thermostats (1 analog & 1 digital) that have temperature ranges fro 35-90F but they don't have a Fan-ON control switch. I also found a digital termostat that can control 1 heat & 1 cool system that does have a Fan-On switch (I'd just simply not use the cooling control terminal) but the lower temp limit is only 40F...

My question to those of you that aready have installed shop/garage heaters is what would you consider more beneficial, the 5 degree lower temp ability or the manual fan control?

Thanks,
Paul

It will depend on you. If you want to keep the heater on during the winter to keep certain things from freezing you may want the 35 deg therm.. If you think the fan only will over benifit you in the summer than go with the therm that has the fan switch.

If you decide on a digital/programable than consider using an isolation transformer as they can create issues with the heater control circuit.

I went with the fan control but may switch it out as my garage stays pretty cool in the summer and may realize i really don't need the fan.
