Hi All. Looking for a thermostat to control a ceiling mounted, gas unit heater in the garage. Would appreciate any suggestions for a good unit to control temperature at around 40 degrees when unoccupied and turning up to 65-75 when occupied.

I use a 'cheap' Honeywell from HD which does go down to 40. I set all the periods (four per day) to 40, then kick it up to 60 when I'm working in there. If I were to forget to turn it down, when the cycle ends it would kick down by itself.

I wouldn't push the temperature THAT close to freezing. 40 is a good option in my opinion. A 35 is just too close to 32 for me. T-stats aren't always super accurate, and there's always slight variations in temperature within a space.
