I currently have a White Rodgers Manual thermostat which at the lowest I can set it keeps my garage between 43 and 47 degrees. I would like to find a better thermostat which I could keep the garage between 35 and 39 degrees. Any recommendations out there for this? Are any of the Honeywell Manual thermostats any more accurate than the White Rodgers?

I have a Honeywell that goes down to 40 (it is digital) however if the temp drops below 32, it locks out. If something happens and it is below freezing and I need heat I have to break out the heat gun and warm it up!

Get a calibration wrench on eBay and adjust your stat so it reads 5* high. That'll accomplish what you want.

If this is the one I think it is, I have one I tried for a while. Yes, it does work. But the thermometer in it is a joke, move the needle to wherever you want it to be, and the numbers and the slide for setting temp is so indeterminate that you will be lucky to set it within several degrees of what you want.
