Let me guess. You brokered a deal with your significant other. You got more garage and she got a master bedroom suite with huge closet and a fancy bath tub. In any case. you have got to add more pictures as you progress. We like pictures!

By the way, gotta love pump trucks! It's always a bit crazy to see heavy machinery spanning and pumping tons of weight over a permanent structure. Did the guy with the remote let you "drive" the pump by chance? We own a few pump trucks at my company, and I've driven a time or two. Made my day. The office is ho-hum compared to the field at times....well until the 100+ temps roll in.

Nice garage!! What kind of roofing trusses are you going with? Just curious on how you are going to tie in to the existing structure.

I work full time but I've made some progress to my addition. I've been concentrating on the outside while the weather has been good. One of the windows on the front side (not pictured) was the wrong size so all I have to do is install 6 pieces of siding and finish off the front gable end once the window arrives. I also have made some custom gable vents I need to install. I've had some old 2x6x8 and 12s lying around for a few years. Was able to build some ghetto looking scaffolding but it worked out nice. The siding came with four 2x12x16s under it which also came in handy.

having the door to the backyard will be a nice addition. I have one on mine and it is really nice to have both ends of the structure opened up on nice days (or to air out fumes).
The second set of scaffolding looks better than the first set.. . . better you than me.

I'm wondering how you mounted it to the house for siding work though without putting holes through the siding you just put up.

I used two 3 inch number 10 screws per A frame. The screws are through the siding were the ring nail would usually go. I just installed screws in the holes and filled them with Alex Plus caulk. They now look just like the nail heads. I really don't think I needed to attach them to the wall but I didn't have the nerve to try it without the screws.
