Thin electrical box -- source

Need to install three light fixtures. Made by BEGA in Germany for USA market. They use a thinner electrical box vs what is typical. I can order them -- but at $55 each (need three) trying to see if something else is around that I don't know about.

BEGA likes to design fixtures that have small wall mounts -- cleaner looking overall. The lights do attach to the box -- but also to the wall. The box does not support the light

I wonder if those boxes even meet NEC wire volume requirements.

Can't say I've seen anything like that here. And from what I've seen ALL the dimensions in European boxes are different. The screw hole spacing, the knockout diameters. It's all metric, so getting a European fixture to work on an American box, even if you can find something narrow enough, may be troublesome. Though you mention the wall attachment, so that helps.

Being the cheapskate that I am, I'd probably use a large box, and custom make a mud-ring for this purpose.

I guess they must -- maybe why they are 7" long? They look like a long version of a metal box for brick work
