Hi guys,

I've been using these Grease Monkey gloves from Home Depot, and I really like them. They're thin enough to retain the feel, but thicker than disposable gloves, and also have plenty of grip. I usually use them for engine bay or interior work. They do wear after a few projects (holes in fingers), but for $5 that's not bad at all. I was just wondering if there are other similar options, maybe a little more expensive, but will last longer?

I get good use from KLEENGUARD 97824 Disposable Gloves, Nitrile, XL, Gray, PK140 (compared to more rippable HF gloves and the #140 package helps too.) I last ordered from Zoro.

I also have some sample gloves from a different supplier. thicker, nicer, good variety available. I'll post info on those later if I remember.

I've been using the Gorilla 15 ml disposable gloves (50 @ $25 or so). As you'd expect the gorillas are stronger, more robust and tougher than the grease monkeys. :monkey_po If you're using that monkey poo try the Gorillas, they're king of the jungle. You'll go ape over them.

I've been wearing a Wells Lamont glove very similar to that Grease Monkey and I like them for general automotive work. They're synthetic mesh with a thin rubber impregnated on the palm, so they're not fluid-tight. But they're tougher than disposable (tougher overall than I would have expected) and they breathe so my hands don't get sweaty inside them. I picked them up at Atwoods (a regional farm store) for $2.50/pair. I don't have a stock number (I cut the tags out for comfort) and can't find them on the WL web site so I hope they haven't been discontinued. When I'm really going to be into fluid, I use disposable nitrile.

Since I started using these for mechanical work, I wear them all the time for everything.

Thin enough to pick up a dime, but protect me for working on most everything.

$1.99/PR
