Thin Wall Bit Holder

I need a thin wall bit holder for getting at screws buried in deep narrow holes, say 9-9.5mm dia, 6" long.

Haven't seen anything thin like that, might be easier/better to get long bits? That way you don't risk losing the bit in the hole?

not sure what you're getting at, but wouldn't a long bit with the appropriate head be a solution? why do you need a holder?

Sometimes it's not possible to know what bit is needed, like with TA30s or TA27s until you try various sizes in the hole.

10 is a little large for some holes.

I could get one that's about 9.75mm on amazon, then chuck it in the drill press and reduce it with a file if it's still too large. I'm thinking of small appliances that often have various types of "security" fasteners. You can't tell what bit you need until you find it necessary to disassemble some of this stuff.

Just measured a bunch of my bit stuff ... thinnest I could find was the Megapro (automotive) screwdriver at 9.46mm. Second thinnest was the extension/handle in my USAG bit ratchet set at 9.86mm (the thing in the lid).

Small appliance with a security fastener that's buried 6in into a hole? I am very confused where you would run into this.

Or a Keurig. One guy was 10/12" deep inside. Fortunately it was phillips, not security.

Have you considered 4mm hex bits if it's for smaller size screws/fasteners?

Not that I know of any long reach ones off the top of my head. But maybe there is one?

The 4mm style is an excellent suggestion, at least for smaller bits. Amazon has at lease one long reach set with what appears to be an 8mm max dia extension.

Yeah, those torx are nice. It's the oddball tirangle bits and such that seem to be unavailable with long shafts.
