What companies make thin wrenches in metric sizes. The head thickness would be somewhere around 3.5 to 4mm, even in 17 and 19mm.

I have some bicycle wrenches that are super think but they are just stamped steel and are not very strong.

Proxxon makes a thin set. Reasonable too. Unfortunately not on their website but I saw the set in a catalog I got from them. Made in Germany or Luxembourg probably.

Does anyone a actual tappet wrench in metric sizes? "thin wrenches" can be had easily, but none of them are as long as a tappet wrench

That's what I thought, when they said "tappet wrenches", my first thought was I have never seen a metric tappet wrench. The vintage tappet wrenches did however come in odd sizes like 19/32" etc. so sometimes they will fit metric stuff. 19/32" fits the collet on my Dewalt die grinder which I am sure is supposed to be metric.

Thanks for all the imput.

The Gedore are the best I’ve found. Available from Samstag. They are a little over $200 for a set of 9 from 13mm to 22mm. They are listed under bicycle tools. All are 2.2 mm thick and are forged. I don’t think I can justify that kind of expense for tools I don’t use that often.

I'm sure with all the options I can find a set that will meet my needs without spending $200.

I think I would get a set of long combination wrenches, then have a friend that has a milling machine just mill the open end thin!

That would work but I wonder how strong they would be. Some years ago I took a grinder to a 17mm craftman wrench and ground it down. I used it for a while until it broke. And I can tell you when it broke my hand sure hurt for a while.
