I've been busy making some pickaroons from axes. And buying things I like. I will need to add more pictures.

I’ll bite. What’s a “pickaroon” ? What do you use them for? How long are the handles? How do you cut them so nicely? Can you get more than one from one axe head? Looks like you can.

I used a hacksaw and a small cut off wheel if and when the blade turned into a butter knife. Use hss blades. A pickaroon is used for climbing, turning logs, boards and self defense I would assume. The ones I make are just my efforts to display. I'm cutting two from a head now. But had to stop. I'm in between cataract surgeries for my eyes. One being good at distance nice and clear now and the other one sucking totally. I just could follow a line or understand if I was so I quit had about an eighth of an inch. So I'll wait for my second eye to get finished. Then wait for it to heal. And then wait till I get some kind of glasses so I can see what the heck I'm doing. Then I will try to do it all over again like I did earlier. I'm sure I'll be able to do it I just need to be able to see at arm's length. So I guess I'll get different kinds of reader glasses find the ones that work the best for what I'm doing and give it a go.

Everybody needs to take good care of their eyes. I purchased a Uvex face shield a few years ago and it is a game changer for clarity. It is super comfortable and the head band adjusts nicely, even with a hat on. Thanks for the info on the pickaroon.
