Well done dan, did you go and test fit that pretty tacoma in there yet?

GB
Hi Rod, you bet I did. Before the roof was even on.

Glad to hear the roof is done, bet you are too. Now you need to start moving in!

I'm going to try and get a little more done before it's too full of stuff to work around.

Nice looking building!

Looks like you got hammered...

I've been hammered a couple of times in my life.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

So, does the convertible get to stay in the new building?

Billy

Billy, that's why I built it. Pretty sad eh?:wtf:

Good to see the garage is moving forward. Are you going to put in a nice beach with that pile of white sand?

Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Stewart, aren't you funny. The white "sand" has finally melted.

DLC, sweet garage. I like the deep overhangs. You'll be able to get in the side door, even after the roof dumps the snow.

That was part of the reason and I had to have that much overhang to get the 14'x 24' room upstairs.

Looking fantastic..:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for checking in Steve. I hope you're feeling better.

Have a metal body 27 Ford roadster, dyno’s out around 355hp. Sometimes a handful to drive- always a handful to keep in top running order. On to 4th post.

OK, something seems to be happening in the number of posts. This should show up as 7th on the “Posts:...” counter. I hope that this crude attempt to get past the 7 posts required does not offend anyone, but if it does please feel free to give me the proverbial rash of .......
As I admit I am trying to work the program! TomG

It's not usual to post up 7 in a row in one thread!!! But I personally would let it go. Simply because you have bumped up a thread that some of us had forgotten about. Welcome.

Not for anything the title of this thread might be mislead to you. It’s actually one members thread.

Gone but not forgotten.

A lot has happened in the last year of my life. I don't want everyone's sympathy but probably owe an explanation to my friends. Some of might know other don't.

Last April I got pneumonia. When my lungs were x-rayed, they found a large tumor. 8 cm long x 6 cm wide and also attached to my trachea (non operable).. About the size of a fist. Metastasized into brain and kidneys. prognosis: 3 months to a year. OUCH. Started chemo treatments and feeling sorry for myself. Came to the conclusion that I couldn't change the diag. but didn't have to sit in a recliner and wait for the day. The treatments have been good for me. The tumor has shrunk to 6 cm x 4cm. Another PET scan last week and will hear the results this Thursday. I'm feeling pretty good other than I've had to cut back on the number of cigarettes' I can smoke in a day:lol_hitti

So guys, that's it. Maybe I need to get back here and enjoy the GJ the way I used to. I hope You're all doing well and I'll try to get caught up with your lives.

Dan hang on. We will be remembering you in our prayers. We plan to be in New England in August. Enjoy your friends. Many have had their own trials and will understand. Even those who have not, no doubt, have more than average compassion. The GJ team have kept more vintage equipment running than the CDC. Bobby

Great update Dan. Yes less smokes but a Dr. Pepper and shot of whiskey a day keeps the doctor away.

Dan, I had no idea. Np sympathy, just happy to have you back. We all live with a death sentence but most don't know the date. Enjoy whatever time you have left and if you can't spend all of it here, we understand but I for one will be watching for your thread to pop up.

Dan: sorry to hear you've had terrible health issues and hope you are well enough to get in some quality garage time and maybe post a bit more here.

you were missed!!

Good luck beating Cancer and some have so maybe you'll be one of the fortunate ones.

my uncle beat the cancer, but caught a cold before his immune system was up to speed and that killed him so wash your hands a lot (maybe you do already) and the tough one is to NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE.

Dan, if I get a chance I’ll give you a call. I’ve been so busy lately that I’m not on here as often as I’d like, what with all the traveling in my current role....

But , as you know from my experiences with the dreaded C, attitude and support from friends and family will ensure the longest & best outcomes!

I’ve also been hit hard by Steve’s loss in his battle.

But keep a brave face, & laugh often looking at some of the antics of some of the lunatics on GJ.

Dan, it’s sure sounds like you had a eventful year. I glad to see you have a positive attitude and handling things best you can. When you hear a friend going through something like this it’s just a reminder to live for today because tomorrow isn’t always guaranteed.

I am so happy to see you back. I haven't lived with your problems but I have witnessed them first hand. You have the right attitude and with that I expect to see you around here for the long haul.

Dan,
Glad you are back on GJ. Prayers for your health and well being. This can be a place where you find support or just a place to have a little fun and talk with similar minded knuckleheads like us. Keep letting us know what is going on in your shop.

Just wanted people to know that Dan passed away, his Brother Rick posted this in one of Dan's other threads. I was lucky enough to have actually met him and got to shoot the **** in a couple real garages with him, he will be missed.

On July 26 my brother Dan, who started this thread as dlcwent, passed. Some of you
know , as you were in phone contact with he or I, for the rest of his friends here I thought
you would like to know.
Thank you all in advance for your thoughts and prayers.

I figured posting in this thread would allow people that didn’t post in the other thread to find out, sorry that it was bad news. :(

He was a great guy, from what his Brother told me it was pretty quick, so that is a best case scenario in my opinion.

RIP Dan
