We HAD an in house electrician at work, licensed journeyman BTW, that apparently didn't understand the reason for cord grips on SO cord drops. This picture is of a brand new cord drop he installed that I just happened to find today.
Notice the unused beam clamp hook just inches away that he could have repositioned and used. Also on multiple occasions if he had to move a cord drop a couple feet he would cut the hanging loop on the cord grip and just use a cheap 1/4" zip tie to hang the cord. INSTEAD of just loosening the beam clamp or pipe it was hanging from!!!
This was also the guy that was adding a component to a machine and hooked 120v to the 24v control circuit. Frying the PLC, touch screen control, and all the sensors.
Needless to say the guy didn't last long.
Anybody else run into so called "pro's" that do things that make you wonder how they dress themselves in the morning?
