Ok heres the problem , today i ordered some spanners, my 440 facoms currently run from 6 to 32mm with every size in between. Ive ordered 4,5,and 5.5 and then the nice tool man, the sales man that he is pointed out that they also do from a 33 to a 50mm, so i didnt think i just said yea go on ill have them too. My 33 to 50 mm set ill pass down to my nephew, they are only a cheepy set. How do i tell wifey when she notice a big chunk of change out of the saving account? She knows i already have 33 to 50?
Do ya think shell accept the answer of i NEEDED the full set? Or WANTED the full set. Buyers remorse a wonderfull thing.

Keep buying spanners, find a more tolerant wife.

I'm lucky the wifey just rolls her eyes when I tell her I'm buying a new toy, except cars, apparently there is a limit on cars.

I always get the, "don't you have those/that already?", to which I reply "yeah but not like this one". I get the same eye roll we all get with the statement, you and your tools.

It could be far worse. At least you bought them with funds you already have.
You could be like others with wifey running on 4 bald tires and having another $400 a month owed to a well dressed box body truck driver.:headscrat for a box "worth" 3 times what her car cost.:)

i would just make sure to not take care of or fix anything she asks me to until she admits that in order to fix things for cheap, you need to spend some cash on tools.

done deal.

if she disagrees, tell her that her fun budget is being cut in half to pay for repairs on things. that might perk her ears up a bit

I have found that I regret spur of the moment purchases more times than not. This has nothing to do with my wife, because she says I work hard for my money and should be able to buy the things I want. I just make better decisions if I have time to think about it first.

Probably gives her the feeling shes not losing out, seeing it would stay on her side?

You can tell her i beleive you did a great charitable act!lol (don't it'll just make things worse). In the end if your happy with the new wrenches, you did alright. Take her out to diner or shopping she'll forgive ya.

Hold on a sec...33mm to 50mm spanners? That's nearly 2 1/2" in wrench size for Americans! Considering what a "cheap" 50mm costs (about $25), I shudder to think what you paid for quality.

Id like to say i got a good deal, a steel even , but no i payed lots like lots n lots
However i wont know for deffo till they get delivered, the deal involves servicing the tool truck.

This is why we have a budget, so we each know whats outside of our monthly income and whats not. All she ever asks is if its within the budget, if its not then its not any huge deal but I'm on notice to be more reserved the following month. She keeps me honest and I do the same.

No different than purses or shoes.

Funny you mention that, a FedEx truck pulls up in front of the house today and she asks me, now what did you buy. I said I dunno lest see what's in the box. Turns out is was shoes that she bought.

Holy **** Col......

Those jumbo sized 440 series are some serious coinage... What are the actual
sizes you ordered..?

....and on a more impotant note we need pictures when you get them, and of the
invoice... :D Unless your wife gets the camera in the divorce..

Just tell her not to worry about man stuff and get back in the kitchen.

You'll have to tell me how it goes, 'cause there's no way I'm saying that to my lady. She's kill me with my own tools, then take the life insurance money and go buy more shoes.
