I already have dual gen1 44’s. They’ve been good and I have no complaints. Just I like the sublime green and think the 22” depth might be nice.

I have read there are some differences between gen1 and gen2 but not up on all the details. Mainly worried about durability, slide quality, etc. I got the jist the gen1’s may have been slightly better?

Also I’ve read there are different SKU’s. Not solely for color differences but to pinpoint factory A or factory B and again there was some minor quality differences between the two.

So what’s the scoop? Which do I want and not want? Assuming gen2’s work out for me I will sell my gen1’s to offset my out of pocket costs.

Coincidentally there is a 10-15% off coupon available for them good through Sunday.

I’ve got an older crinkle red 44” box setup and 2 newer (2yr old) gloss black 44” boxes. I like the newer ones a little better.

Appreciate the feedback. Care to expand a little? I thought I may enjoy the larger size (extra depth). I was concerned with thickness of metal, durability, main frame construction, drawer slide quality and capacity, etc.

Hi.
I just bought the yellow HF 44 chest with the 14 in side drawers. Can’t speak for comparison or longevity but they both came out of the box in great shape and look fantastic. Haven’t loaded them up with tools yet. I’m planning on pulling the drawers to check the slider attachment (sometimes known to get loose) and cleaning/greasing the sliders.
It was very heavy and required 2 of us to get it off my truck and that was with all the drawers removed.
