So getting ready to finish up the new garage build and being it's 22 x 28 I am trying to save a bit of width room and considering a single post. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?

I have seen the American Customs one and seems to be the best. Any other brands that are worth looking into ?

That is about the size of the garage attached to my house. I would love to get a rollup door and two single post lifts.

I worked for 30 years on a single post lift it was the auto industry's standard lift for years
it takes up les room than a two post above ground lift and for most things it works well.

worked for near 50 yrs under a single post lift.I find it strange all the comments about safety issues, years ago it was the only way to go. the way it is set in the concrete and the dia. of the tube I believe it to be stronger and more stable than a lot of the china **** that is being sold...

Think the OP is talking about a above ground single post lift used for storage like the ones Ben Pak either sells or sold at one time, not the old air over hydro in-ground single post lifts you guys worked under. Totally different beast. The old in-ground single post piston lifts were and are still great. The above ground single post storage lifts out on the market....well you would not catch me installing one or working under one...no way in hell.
Been doing lifts for over 20 yrs...would not touch one of the above ground single post storage lifts. I'm sure others swear by them...just my .02

Yes I am talking about the above ground single post lifts. Not to work under only for storage.

There are single post, above-ground lifts designed for working on the car. They are basically big fork lifts mounted on a base like a pallet jack. If the instability worries you, get a set of tall jackstands from Northern Tool.

^^agreed. unless you're parking a micromachine jeep underneath?

I am also looking at a single post to work on cars (mostly chubby german race cars aka 911)...I want to put the post against a wall so I can fit my boat/cube trucks in the 2 car mancave ..otherwise I would get a 2 post. Suggestions?
