Thinking of making a base plate mounted compressor

Hi,

I am thinking of making a base plate mounted compressor that feeds into a separate tank. Does the compressor need to be higher than the tank so the discharge line runs downhill? Or is this irrelevant?

My compressor feed two tanks , One that its fastened on and one bolted above it onto the wall , I cant see any reason why it would make any difference

Screw compressors are almost never tank mounted, high pressure compressors for scuba use etc are never tank mounted, they fill banks of high pressure cylinders like welding tanks.
