I read this 100 times thinking he made a mistake but I keep interpreting it as: 'trade for truck or $5000, or will trade even for ATV/UTV'

I wouldn't give $2500 if it was full of tools and it's empty!!!

.... I guess it technically is Snap On, but normally everything I see that is Blue Point, is advertised as Blue Point. I guess he is trying to talk it up and make it worth that $5000 :lol_hitti

I see stuff like this all the time on our CL barter section. "Will trade non running lawnmower for boat, but no junk" :wtf::rolleyes:

In cases like this, I'm never quite sure if the "seller" is just that stupid, or just that dishonest. Either which way they are a person I have zero respect and thus use for.

That setup is $500-750 on average.

I have a KR650 and KR655 combo I got a good deal on for $750. I'd say it's worth around $1000-1200 on the high end. I've seen people listing them on eBay for $2500-3500. That's about what they cost new 25 years ago. :headscrat

That toolbox ad is spam. It was on Craigs List down here in Florida...same picture and same price. So.....draw your own conclusions.

I sent an email, said I didn't see a SO box but a Blue Point. Asked what he would take green cash for a new $3000 box that is used. don't want it, and won't buy it, but will see if he answers.

It may be a scam, or it may be commercial spam.
A list of people willing to overpay is valuable, as is a list of people in the market for a toolbox.

That's one problem with a no-cost classified ad system. Although charging wouldn't completely fix the problem, as a 'sucker list' is more valuable than the profit from a legitimate transaction.

Bingo!

This is exactly what's wrong with many of the penalties for corporate and white collar crime --
The fines are so miniscule compared to the profits (and sealed court documents and gag orders readily available)
that corporations and white-collar executives are nearly always willing
to do bad things because they will make TONS more money
than anything they'll pay in fines.

The 'sucker list' is just another example -- once a company gets a list of people who have so much money that they'll gladly pay far more than the seller should get, the company know they've got someone who will pay $650,000 for a $175,000 house...
..which ends up driving up ALL our costs...

Our area has been ruined by people moving here from both directions, who have TONS more money than the locals.
Now, as a result, the locals who've grown up here cannot afford to buy houses within 1 hour of town, or within 30 minutes of a grocery store.
All the houses close to town are far far far overpriced and way under quality, but out-of-towners who want to retire here keep moving in and paying ridiculous amounts of money for them, so we locals can't live in our own town any more.
