Trusses are set. Now for the 60+ sheets of roof sheathing then on to walls. After a good long day of walking trusses I need a day off . . . . But, no rest for the weary. Trying to be sheathed this weekend.

Moving along.

So after a long weekend the sheathing is 95%; just gable ends to go. Have felt on the roof until metal gets here; just glad to have this part behind me! More soon -

Another update. Sheathing complete, roof is installed, house wrap is on, and the 10x10 doors are installed. Need to get an entry door installed, finish the soffit and hang my siding and i'll be done. Well, all but electrical, that is. Electrical starts next week.

Thanks for looking.

More progress. Electrical service is roughed in (200a service, overhead) and the tool crib/lock-up is framed in. Hope to have power this week and then more to follow. Still haven't made the final decision on siding yet; leaning towards metal now.

Thanks for looking.

So continuing along. Should finish up siding before too long and be done for a while. Wiring is finished, insulation and interior OSB about 1/3rd complete. Move from the old shop is in progress, so I hope to be back on other projects before the end of May. Finally!

Still making progress slowly but surely.

On the electrical side, all that is left to accomplish is exterior floods and interior fluorescent lighting. Right now, soffits / eave work in progress to get the siding and exterior 100%. Took and overhead shot to show the clutter of getting moved in!

Exterior almost complete. Plans are still metal siding on the south, west and north side. Hardee on the east (around the doors, facing the road).

Exterior is almost complete; finally! Won't be long and all we'll need is paint.

A few minor pieces of trim left to paint and we'll be done with the exterior. Already a "working" shop inside; that's never really finished, is it?

So it's been quite a while since I posted an update, but the Falcon shop is, for all intents and purposes, complete. I have a few loose ends to tidy up here and there, but it'll always be that way, won't it? Finally poured my apron in the early spring, so construction is over.

Finally.

Time to play now!

Dan

Fairly cluttered while moving in. Lots more room now.

Apron poured. Really made the shop feel complete.

One of the toys relaxing on the new apron.

Looks great, would you care to share your cost for the shell and concrete please? I am looking to do the same type of build and trying to compare to a pole barn. Thanks!

It would take a while to break it all out, but to date, all included, I'm in it approximately $28k. That's only paying labor to finish the interior slab and form/pour the exterior slab. All other labor by yours truly. Hope this helps.
