I have heard the after mkt. motorcycle industry is joining SEMA for a stronger voice against the EPA and right to modify laws.
I liked the sticker on someones tool box here.

Race it
Break It
Fix it
Repeat

Quite true. The off-road guys (every kind of OR vehicle) have also come to SEMA to get support in retaining legal access to millions of acres of land in restricted areas. In fact, even the hot-boat companies have expressed some interest (but this economy has really hurt the boat guys). :(

(climbs on high horse) I don't understand all the trash that gets thrown around, on this thread, and the Board in general. Why does one person's interest have to be yours or else it's stupid or a waste of time/money/energy? I want to do it on two wheels, you want to do it on four. I want to make it go fast in a straight line, you want yours to only make left hand turns. So what? Why not enjoy the other's feats of engineering/building/collecting/spending or other derring-do? And if you simply can't find yourself appreciating the other guys interest, why not just skip the "Post Quick Reply" button? It's easy! (climbs down now)

:+1: It's all about having fun. Whatever puts a smile on your face. Although I do wonder what the jeep guys think in Moab when the mountain bikers pass them. Uphill and down.

What is the point of driving stock cars in a circle 500 times?

I don't even know why they keep that name, *stock cars* there is nothing stock about them and none of them can be driven on the street legally or even give you day to day performance!

Looks like a RC crawler to me.

haha that's what people think when they first see that pic......

Bruce,

Welcome to the GJ forum . . . Can't speak for all the members here, but I can appreciate the amount of work and effort never mind money to accomplish what you did in that rock garden!

Thanks! I have never added up the $$$ spent on the build-up, but it's a never ending project. Keep making changes here and there. Fortunately many of the expenses are offset by work I do on other vehicles. And yes I do it as a hobby, not my regular job.

I was out there for a TTORA event in which this video shows some of the other vehicles running
and another angle of me going down the rock garden. That day I decided to go run with the prerunners on the Lucerne Valley race course, since I had already been doing the Hammers trails the day before.

As for why I rock crawl is easy, I'm getting older and like taking things slower than I did when I was young. It's more technical and you have to follow the proper line, otherwise you can easily flop your rig. Most cases I don't need a spotter assisting me through the trails.

Here's a video of me playing around out at Calico

my cardomain site has more info on the modifications done to my rig

Oh brother another thread resurection....

can't help if I just found this thread today, otherwise I would have responded earlier. As for SAS this SAS that, not going to happen, I already can do 95% of the trails out there and could care less about the other ones.

Just noticed this thread is in the tool section, so here's my contribution

the first is my Bridgeport CNC mill, next is my Miller SD180 TIG on the cart I built and the last is a 40 ton press brake I also built.....
