I work in an industrial setting, and currently there are over 20 of the HF boxes in daily use. The company furnishes tools and boxes so has all the say in what is purchased.
The factory casters are NOT used, rather a square tube frame is constructed with large industrial casters, and the frame takes the load of the cabinet, tools, metal top, and large Wilton vise, as well as being able to transport the box over the large expanse of the plant on a forklift. The frame is constructed as to allow the box to be removed and replaced in case it is damaged somehow, same design as was used for the high dollar Craftsman and Kennedy boxes from years past. Is possible for something to happen not associated with daily grind that can destroy a box.
The mechanics actually like these boxes, and they have held up very good. They like them well enough that many of them (myself included) have purchased HF boxes for home. I have been at this plant for 2 years and the boxes had been in use for some time before I got there and are still going strong. A couple of guys have even painted theirs, one being white, several black, and one in fluorescent green.
I don't know how they would hold up on their own casters however, but the reason they are even in the plant is because the more expensive boxes did not hold up on their casters and had to be replaced, so cheaper boxes and metal frames were in order.
Daily use in and out of drawers, these things have held up real well. Getting pushed around the plant though, can't say since that variable has been removed.
