This is a Wilton, right?

Got this yesterday at HGR for $100. If it is a Wilton it seems that the only Mfg. ID would have been a name plate glued to the side.
Dirty and a little beat up but the screw and jaw move smooth, like butter.

Looks like a Wilton Tradesman, on pic #2 you can make out 1750. On pic #3 you can see 111052; Google "Wilton 111052" and you will see Wilton 1750 Tradesman results. Nice vise

I've owned 3 of the 1750's, and that's the first one I've seen that has the cast writing on the side. Generally the writing is on the later models 1755, 1765, and 1780. The 1750 indeed had thin metal name plates attached to the sides, sometimes as Wilton and sometimes as Snap On. Mine is still waiting for labels.

BTW, the "bullet" on mine has more taper and possibly a smaller dust cap. What's the date stamp on yours?

ST: yes you own a Wilton (manufactured) vise now and as said it's a 1750 with 5 inch wide jaws. there are a stickers that Wilton put on the side of that vise besides their Wilton and i think you can call Wilton to buy one or maybe if you get the right person they will send you one.

other stickers on the side of that vise could have been Snap On, John Deere and a # of other big companies that hired Wilton to make vises for them.

looks like a solid vise and maybe the handle needs replacing or some work done to if if you like it to make it look better.

ST: unscrew the dynamic jaw all the way out of the vise and don't drop it or let it fall. then turn it over and clean the grease off the keyway and there should be a date stamped on it with month and year like other bullets and tradesman Wilton vises have.

here's a thread where you can post pictures of yours and you can see many other varieties of Wilton bullets, tradesmans, cadets and their C series vises.

Contact Wilton and they'll send them to you for free. Even the Snap-On labels.

I tried already for a Snap-On label and no response from Wilton. But I painted it Verde Green now so it will be a Wilton branded vise. Nick (Autopts) sent me a few of the newer style Tradesman labels, but still looking for the older version for this particular 1750
