why are you trying to cancel it?
You will see some products is fulfilled by Sears authorized supplier, this is most likely drop shipped from Apex tool group, or whatever brand you ordered etc. This is a GOOD thing, because the items sent by sears itself is a joke how it is packed. if it is drop shipped it is likely they cannot stop the process.

That said.. I have had good service with sears.com to resolve issues with prices and they are resolved quickly through the chat option. I absolutely avoid their B&M store with teenagers working there, horrible customer service there.

Home depot though one night said they will price match Sears via chat, but I was not ready to order, tried a couple days later I got someone who seem to not be "overseas" who absolutely refuse to match the price (it requires entering a code to take off $35 from $300)

For those of us who work in multi-national companies this is acceptable.

It's only mildly acceptable if the OP's transaction is finalized as he wishes. However, I believe it will take more actions than a poorly written email to suffice; we'll see. This response is universal in the (enter large US Government Agency here) conversations when words will be utilized rather than a real solution. It kicks the can either down the road, or at least to another assistant who may give more of a care to the OP's problem.

Global market and your 'International colleagues'? At least those jobs are available in big cities like Chicago. Here, my friends who make minimum wage at manufacturing jobs, squabble over who is cheaper- HD, Lowe's, or Wal-Mart. What they fail to see is that their haggling over the same box of Chinese drywall screws. Save a dollar to sink a nation.

And that is why Sears *****...

I guess I am in the minority. I still like Sears and Craftsman. I have not had an issue. They are still the best in stocking old replacement parts. I have rebuilt many a old tool or mower or lawn equipment from Searspartsdirect.

In addition...that "useful shmuck" behind the counter generally could not care less about you trading in your old tools.

I once found a large set of old craftsman sockets that had corroded. Craftsman was starting to deny trade ins just for minor corrosion and I was denied by my local store. I took the sockets and media blasted them so there was not a bit of rust on them and took them to the next closest store. The guy behind the counter was very confused at what he was looking at....lol. There were deep pits...but they were clean as a whistle with no rust. I suggested the Plating was defective. He shrugged and said...just go get what you need and bring it up here.

Sears is just discombobulated enough to maneuver things in your favor many times.

I got no personal problem with Sears, always been done well. The world wants first class service but complains about price, some of it miniscule.
They done me ok but it doesn't man don't think they area business blunder. Yu can only sell so low for so long and all this discounting etc has shot themselves in the other foot.

Geeze.
I just cancelled a purchase through Amazon, and the response (from China) was in concise English and assured that they had cancelled the order and refunded the money to the credit card.
Amazon immediately credited the funds. I guess eCommerce is the future.

A sidebar to this would be the fact that China now has more English-speaking Chinese citizens than there are English-Speaking US-citizens here in America.

Also, FWIW, I gave up on anything Sears or Craftsman 20+ years ago. Too many disappointments to continue to support a company wallowing in its own ineptitude.

Yeah, plus I love the fact they're always someone's idiotic minor issue, versus the complete failure of Sears to adopt to modern retail and customer demand.

That said, stupid CS reps can look pretty good (and save a lot of time) if they simply used template-based responses... seems odd this one wasn't.

This is what I get from this too. A person whose first language is not English probably spent minutes typing this out. For a situation that happens to Sears thousands of times. Instead he could have picked a canned response in seconds and been on to the next customer.

I too remember the adventure of being taken to Sears to buy shoes, as far back as the '40s.

Our worlds have dramatically changed. As late as the '60s, the Sears catalog was a reference book of tools and supplies.

Where they were once the nations supply house, selling everything you might need or want; they have become a fond memory. The Sears we knew and loved has been replaced by a renamed K Mart.

I miss them, but I am richer in spirit for having known them.

I'd agree, but I believe he's a little "old school" and maybe doesn't trust paying online and wants to do it in person. Some folks are like that. I work with several guys that still write checks for everything, even though they can probably "E-check" through their bank.

Whenever possible, I make my payments in person. Been doing it this way for decades... Just bought some furniture from Macy's... Once they bill me, I'll drive on over to Macy's and pay it off...

It's just how I do it because it makes me feel better...

And that's exactly how it should be...different strokes for different folks. I believe this forum should embrace that a little more.....

I ordered a torch from Farm and Fleet a week ago. There was a problem with the order. I'm ok with that, as nobody is perfect. So I call customer service, and literally cannot understand most of what this man tells me. I call back a few days later as a follow up, and can't understand most of what THIS guy is saying. This from Farm and Fleet.

I went to Sam's with my wife, and she became interested in a piece of jewelry. I figured someone could show it to her, but there is nobody at that counter. So I find someone to call for help. Three times. I gave up finally. Come back past a half hour later, and catch a lady behind the counter. Much to her dismay! So we ask to look at it. My wife likes it. I ask what sizes they have it in. Deer in the headlights look. She doesn't know and isn't willing to find out. Easy $400 sale and without any effort she can't seal the deal. They simply don't try any more.
