2 stroke engine? Other than that, what's the difference between this thing and something available in the states?

Yard boy made 2 stroke mowers available here. I've actually used them before to mow steep ditches. They are nice and super light

2 stroke tends to spin the blade faster giving a better lawn care. Jacobsen made awesome mowers in the day but US epa does not want two strokes in the states.

OOP's meant Lawn-Boy aka the Green Mower.

Why did the EPA go after Lawn Boy? You can still get two cycle weedeaters, chainsaws, etc.

Tractors were legally imported here that don't meet us regulations. I don't know if you still can but maybe research gray market tractor importing. Its probably going to be way too expensive to make it worth it. Someone would already have though of it if it was cost effective.

It has nothing to do with lawn boy. They have emissions rules based on the size of the engine. Lawn boy (toro) made a conscious decision that they can't meet lower emissions requirements and still make a buck with 2 cycle. Your common consumer won't pay something like $1200 for a push mower.

I have a 1958 Craftsman with a 2-cycle engine. It's only control is a lean/rich mixture control. It was one of the first horizontal blade mowers offered. It's great for mosquitos, as it smokes alot until it warms up.
