Went yard sailing and an older part of town had a lot of them going in prep for an antique flea market they hold every year on the last Sunday in August. then I hit a few more elsewhere before calling it a day.

Finds by the "stop"

2 odd SK sockets (19 & 25/32's) and a Triumph wrench

2 welders grips, small 7" Craftsman snips, a Duro Chrome boxed "set" of 1/4" drive sockets (With a few other brands mixed in..), and 9 snap on Metric wernches from 7-15 MM (but missing the 10mm) + a 5/8's, (Which was a bit odd)

3 way knurling tool

short 18" grounded extention w/ 3 outlets

3-1/2" (Early60's?) Craftsman vise, I'll post pics of that in the "Craftsman Vice" thread since it is marked "Made in USA"

Delta vertical saber saw or possibly a filer? I need to open up the "blade clamp" and see; it may be both?

6" craftsman planer/jointer (50's at a guess), w/stand and 1 HP AC/DC craftsman motor...



The Snap-On's, a little worse for the wear. Does the SO warranty extend to peeling chrome?

And the 1/4" Duro Chrome set; It has a straight "Torque Bar" included that fits the hole in the Breaker bar, something I've never seen. It also had a couple SK Sockets, and some Industro's (About 50-50 there)

The box has one hinge lose and needs to be spot welded. I may need to make an offset pair of Tips to get in close...

I think this is supposed to be mounted on another tool using that tube clamp. Maybe Delta was taking a page from Shop Smith?

had to make a second post for the Planer Jointer pics:

As found it was all over the place, and I almost missed the blade guard.

I was looking at the Jointer, checking if the blades were any good, an the guy comes up and says "Five bucks for the Planer, and it comes with a Motor and table"

I'm thinking: "I probably want to pass on the table, unless I come back with the van..."

I told him I would take it and he asked if I have a truck or car, and I say car, and he says to pull it up and they would load it. He and his friends made the point that I was getting it for scrap steel prices (I was).

I put a moving pad I carry in the trunk over he back seat and we put the jointer across the back seat.

Then I went to look at what I thought was a couple of grinder stands. "That's the table and Motor" he tells me (They were 15 yards at least away from the Jointer!) . We managed to get that in the trunk, and I also grabbed the Delta in the prior post for $2.

I spotted the cutter guard just before I left, so that was good!

All the rotational parts seem to be in good working shape (On both machines), in spite of all the surface rust elsewhere, and the couple of bolts I've messed with seem to be reasonably free, so I think the bulk of the restore job will be de-rusting and painting. Nearly everything is cast iron, so I don't expect too many issues.

The Motor is the original (or at least the same era) I believe, note the "Long "C" in "Craftsman". I think this is the first time I got an original motor in an old tool that wasn't integrated... the Motor is 1 HP, 110/220, and an AC/DC Brushed motor. You don't see many of those... I'm hoping to get the motor to work, in spite of its inefficiencies. Its not like I'm going to use this constantly...

Possibly, but because of the round bar clamp (And weak *** bottom base mounting) , I'm thinking It is more likely the Saber Saw attachment for the Mid 50's Delta Milwaukee DeltaShop - which was a Combo Saw, jointer, drill press, Saber saw, and possibly other tools, depending on the separate attachments an owner purchased. I've found no clear pictures of it as yet however.

Well, I found a pic of the Delta Saw piece. Supposedly this is from the 30's?

Is this a Delta 700? EDIT: Supposedly it is...

I could see where this might also be adapted to the DeltaShop, which I believe had round bars on it. EDIT: I suspect it or one like it was used on the delta shop.

Here you go:

You will note the out-of-place socket head bolts. A PO bolted on a piece of bar stock so it could be mounted in a QC tool post instead of an old tower tool post.

One of the three sets of knurls has been well worked, the other two look to be in fine shape, so for 50 cents, it'll do.

My dealer gave me a bigtime stink eye when I handed him a wrench with peeling chrome. It was a nice looking VS-3032, but there were small peels forming all over the place. Basically every time you grabbed it, you scratched yourself. Even when I explained this he gave me looks...

Tacking onto the post from yesterday, I went to the annual antique flea market this AM, and as expected it was mostly a "museum" sightseeing run. I did find these though:

A 1920's/30's "MasterWrench" the big one is as found, and is the toothed pipe wrench version. 14" on the handle with patent dates from the 20's The smaller 10' is one I had, so you can see better the details. I also have an 8" but its buried in my camp gear for use on propane connections.

And a nice condition wood plane: This is the 4th one of these in this basic style I've found this season. The other three were flat bottom; this one is curved bottom to about 1/4" depth across the width.

The blade is clearly marked "Sargent & Co." and "Cast Steel"

The body of the plane had a semi illegible stamp in the front top edge.

Top line is arched, and reads (Possibly) W.R. Gelich (Celch? maybe Welch?), nad the line below that is straight and is clearly "New York"

Between and even smaller is either 1 11 or 1 12; a date? Jan 1911 or 12?
