I just picked this up off of Facebook. It is in solid working condition and doesn’t really need restoring, but I really do like a project. I know Wilton Vices are sought after and a lot of information is available on the different models and dates. For that reason, I am fairly overwhelmed and at a loss. All I have been able to put together is that the date stamp is 175 which I believe makes it January of 1975? There is no model number that I know of, just a number under the jaw.

Either way, I’m pretty sure it’s missing the rotating base, unless some models came like this? I am interested in replacing the missing parts and possibly getting a new set of jaws. Any info on my vice and where the best place to get parts is would be awesome.

Looks like it's in pretty good shape. The experts will chime in, the only advice I can give is to spell it 'vise.' ;)

There were plenty of Wiltons that came with stationary bases. You might want to think thru your mounting plans.

For a lot of users, a swivel base is almost never used, not as rigid and they're very expensive to replace. I can't remember the last time I swiveled my vise.

Thague: nice find!! I think Dave meant to say that Wilton sold a lot of vises like that WITHOUT swivel bases. if you have to have one though i think AutoPts (Nick) has the new bases for sale so PM him if you need one.

to help you with a model # can you measure the width of the jaws and that will help us?
