I really like this time of year. There are 4 nearby festivals, a Balloon Rallye this weekend, a Potato Festival,a Grape Festival and a Fall Foliage Festival in the nearest communities, all with a plethora of yard sales.
Today I sorted through a box of tools, grungy and rusty and found MAC, Snap-On, S-K, a 3/8 Craftsman circle U ratchet by Plomb and more. Something about the atmosphere I guess.

Wife suggested we take in the grape festival this year. We were at Grimes Glen a couple weeks ago in Naples. Yes, it is a beautiful area.

Fall Foliage Festival is an excuse for one village in a triangle to have a festival because one of the other two villages celebrates grapes and the other celebrates potato harvest. It also gives the "leaf peepers" a focal point for their destination.

Here's a weird one.... I like how the sun shines at a shallower angle this time of year. I could do without the humidity that I'm feeling right now, Though.

Shoot, Bill, you’re not far from Letchworth. Talk about fall foliage.

I agree the flea market and festival combined are some of my favorites. Memorial Day is one (Wilson,NY) , the steam engine show, etc.. Alexander steam show is in Sept..

Years ago two of my friends and I rode our bicycles from Rochester NY to Letchworth State Park and back again in a single day. That was quite a haul, but the views were beautiful!

I've ridden from Rochester to Letchworth into the Perry entrance. The uphill into Perry was brutal; the downhill out of Perry to Letchworth was sublime.

I've ridding the park from one end to the other a couple times as well. Great ride, if you like hills.

Letchworth foot note: They just opened the Portageville entrance after three years and replacing the old railroad bridge.

Yep, we took the same route. The hills really became challenging between Geneseo and Perry. We had to actually stop at one point because the woman who was riding with us was hyperventilating on one of the climbs. It was brutal. But once you entered Letchworth, things got better because it was all downhill!
