I recently purchased these. I have worn them under 6 times.

I have the 6" version of those Thorogoods. I've worn mine for 3 years every day at work. Soles are getting worn, but the leather and the stitching are still very good. I do clean and oil them every few months.

I'd buy another pair of Thorogood boots.

I wear the 6” versions at work. Good comfortable boots but I do a lot of kneeling on concrete and metal grating and the leather over the steel toe wears out and exposes the steel. Every pair I’ve had without fail has done this (3 or 4 pairs over the years).

Wasn't really impressed with the Thorogoods I bought. Wore them for a day or two then ended up dumping them at a bit of a loss. The interior is cheaper compared to Carolina or Chippewa of course that's reflected in the cost too. For me the extra expense is worth it.

I posted a couple comparison shots a few years back. I started wearing the Chippewa in the shots not long after, and still wear them today.

These are static-dissipative boots -- they're meant to ground you to a conductive surface. Do not wear them working around live voltage or you will be in a bad spot.

I wear 804-4711's every day since I work in a warehouse dealing with used industrial automation equipment (drive boards, servo drives, random robot arms, etc) and they hold up pretty good.

I highly recommend using a leather conditioner or oil on them to keep them from drying out though.

I have been wearing them for years and love them. Very little break in time needed and good fit. On my second pair I did have a issue with the heel, sent them in and got a new pair back in about a week. If you have a blains farm and fleet near you several of their boots are also sold under the "work n sport" brand.

They have flat bottom soles also..

Thorogood flats are suppose to be some of the most comfortable boots available if you don't NEED the heel.. most people don't NEED them..

Best boot brands - redwing, Carolina, Thorogoods, wolverines. Timberlands are ok, wide not available on all models (or waterproof), Keens is another good brand.

My next boots are gonna be the Thorogood flat bottoms. I bought $200+ timberlands, even spent another $40 on upgraded insoles.. wore em for 3 weeks.. Keens are what I'm wearing now.

Look at model #804-4655 . Look it up on Amazon.
It's the emperor toe flat sole model. The emperor toe gives more room than the round toe models. Some people complain about the Moc toe models being uncomfortable too.. I've already spent hours looking at these.

I would also not buy 8" unless you need them.. 6" is like a standard height.. my old partner at work had 8" or 10" boots once.. 10 years later people still call him GO-GO (like strippers boots) because of how stupid they looked.

My Carolinas are triple e I think. D is just wide I believe.. all my other boots are D I think. I can't even wear regular width boots.. I bought Northface duck boots for close too $200 cause 3 other guys at work raved about them. Not available in wide.. wore em a few weeks and gave them away.
